For a tournament this long, to think India could go 9 from 9 and then be knocked out in a match vs 4th is a little odd.

Surely a better finals system would be:

1v2 (winner to final)
3v4 (elimination)

Loser of 1v2 vs winner of 3v4 (call it a prelim)

Winner of 1v2 vs winner of prelim

It's only 1 additional match

Not a bad idea, maybe for another time, another host tbh..

India let the world know the schedules 3 months out (Other WC hosts it is 12 months minimum) meaning other nation supporters couldn't plan for this trip, so it is predominately indian fans at any venue. Pretty fake seeing indian fans hold up signs like eg. "I am here for you Maxy/Warner" at aussie games or be wearing other nations jersey lol (at non india games).

Also plain as day decks are doctored to suit India, based on who they play

Other puzzle is what to do with Labs?
Options seem to be Green or Stoinis.
Alternatively bring back Carey as a keeper and retain Inglis as a batsman?

Keep stoinplod out of the side at all costs

Definitely a harsh way for 1st to go out.....you get the feeling that because of the sudden death nature of it, India will be very f**king nervous.

Stoinis starts slower than me turning for a three at 38 years old

Has anyone told the selectors and Ricky we haven't won an ODI when Stoinis has scored 50 runs or more.

All those decent scores he got never won is a game.

What has stoinis even done with the ball to justify this continuing selection he averages 43 with the bloody rock.

Stoinis has basically replaced James Faulkner ever since that 146 at Eden Park and Faulkner fell out of favour due to off-field indiscretions but Stoinis couldn't tie Faulkner's shoe laces if he tried.

Faulkner I reckon won us at least 4 games with the bat and was an excellent white ball bowler who thrived the bigger the match.

Won MOM in 2015 WC final as well
