Only one spinner is risky. Maxwell can do a job, but I wouldn't want to trust him with 10 overs a game. Agar would have added betted balance than Stoinis or Green. I'll bet the first match against India will be a sandpit and nothing like the road in the warmups.

The first XI is pretty strong, but not a lot of depth. A lot hinges on the top 3 and Zampa - if they have good tournaments I think we'll do well.

Warner
Head/Stoinis (cos I don't think taking Bison out of the middle order helps us)
Smith
Labs/Stoinis/Green
Bison
Maxwell
Inglis (IMO, but they'll pick Carey)
Starc
Cummins
Haze
Zampstagram

I reckon we're a bit light on bowling. Not a lot of variation. Would have contemplated a guy like Nathan Ellis personally, plenty of slower balls and chenge ups that the 3 main quick just don't have. Sabba has more but still not a heap.

Bit of a tangent but Green could do a lot worse than going away and working on a bunch of change ups etc

Best 11 has a real chance to change as the tournament progresses, particularly in the batting department. Head and Marsh are too good to leave out. Warner and Labs are probably to two who need to be in the runs as Maxwell offers a bit with the ball which is important now Agar is gone.

Fox commentators, id imagine pre and post game, as well as innings/drinks breaks

We will have to wait till next world cup to hear Warners analysis...

https://www.foxsports.com.au/cricke...m/news-story/76b24d46a74913ebde9f71e9c4acfa6e

Khawaja will provide analysis on Fox Cricket during the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India, also making commentary appearances throughout the 2023/24 home summer.

He joins opener partner David Warner, the most recent addition to Fox Cricket’s commentary, who will take on a full-time role with the microphone after his retirement.

“I love cricket and I love analysing the game. I have always wanted to stay a part of the game when I finish up playing and commentating just seemed the perfect fit,” Khawaja said in a statement.

“I‘ve always enjoyed Fox Cricket’s coverage. Fox Sports was the first thing I’d put on in the morning as a kid, so the affiliation with the company was a bit more sentimental for me.

“On top of that, working alongside a world-class commentary team and my mate Dave Warner is something that really excites me and I can‘t wait”.

Fox Cricket’s hosting team for the World Cup also includes former Australian cricketers Brendon Julian, Mark Waugh, Kerry O’Keeffe and Brad Haddin, while Michael Vaughan, Ravi Shastri, Wasim Akram, Harsha Bhogle and Ian Smith will provide expert analysis.

Starc got a hattrick in this game. He has been exceptional at the last 2 world cups, if the big unit is in form we become a lot scarier team
