If Cronk joins the Roosters, the 2018 competition is over before it starts

Latrell can’t defend for sh!t.

lol

He has had his deficiencies in the past to be sure but he is part of the best defence in the comp at the moment.

Nice try though.

Not to mention he more than makes up for it in attack where he consistently runs over his opposite number which he will no doubt do on every single occasion he faces Chambers.

You like to point your argument to Origin. Well why don’t you look at the stats for the 3 games, Chambers outplayed Latrell. And in the 1 game of Roosters and Storm this season, Chambers came out on top

William Chambers is still number one, with young Latrell Mitchell catching up. By the years end he may overtake him. Both will certainly feature in the Australian squad.

As for the Roosters, they simply don't have the forwards. It's a glaring weakness that'll be exposed in the 2018 finals series.

Stats? let's take a look at the stats

Mitchell: 17 games, 5 try assists, 80 tackle breaks, 12 line breaks, 21 missed tackles, 80.3% tackle efficiency
Chambers: 14 games, 2 try assists, 24 tackle breaks, 3 line breaks, 43 missed tackles, 80.1% tackle efficiency

It's a no contest, across the board Latrell is a superior player and if you could remove your Melbourne bias for just one moment you too will see the light

Chambers overall game is better then Latrells. Stats prove this

No they don't

2018 stats from nrl.com

Will Chambers

Games - 14
Tries - 3
Try Assists - 2
Tackle Breaks - 24
Line Breaks - 3
Tackles - 218
Tackling Efficiency - 80.1%
Missed Tackles - 43
Average running metres - 95.4
Total running metres - 1335

Latrell

Games - 17
Tries - 11
Try Assists - 5
Tackle Breaks - 80
Line Breaks - 12
Tackles - 144
Tackling Efficiency - 80.3%
Missed Tackles - 21
Average running metres - 83.7
Total running metres - 1423

The stats certainly do prove a point, just not the one you were hoping for. Even allowing for the fact Chambers has played 3 less games, he is clearly nowhere near Latrell this year. Latrell's defending stats are even marginally better which is the one area I thought Chambers would be superior which makes your comment of him being a shit defender look very silly.

Ok let's do that

2018 Origin Series Stats

Will Chambers

Run metres - 360
Tackle breaks - 6
Tries - 1
Line Breaks - 1
Tackles - 52
Missed Tackles - 15 (what a defender)
Try assists - 2

Latrell

Run metres - 238
Tackle breaks - 17
Tries - 2
Line Breaks - 3
Tackles - 29
Missed Tackles - 3
Try Assists - 0

Again, probably not the story you were hoping to see and Latrell even gave him a full game to make it up as Latrell was poor in the 3rd one.

360m to 238m is a massive difference for someone who got “dominated”. Latrells missed tackle count is low but that’s mainly because most of the time he didn’t even lay a finger on anybody

Latrell really only played two games and he still slaughtered that grub Chambers. Imagine how good he'll be if he started turning up every week.

Calling Chambermaid a better centre than Latrell is like saying Tohu Harris is a better 2nd rower than SBW.

One is an outstanding player; the other is a generational talent who'll be in the GoaT centre conversation by his mid 20s.

In Origin, Latrell was the 280lb NFL linebacker - he was Ray Lewis. And Chamberpot was the fawning 100lb white cheerleader at the after party.

That right there is my biggest gripe with Latrell. He’ll have an awesome game where he is unstoppable but then he’ll have a game where he touches the ball twice. Until he doesn’t go missing he will not be the best centre in the game

In Chamberpot's defence he was marking up against the best centre in the game - a man who is one of the most devastating attacking forces the game has ever seen.

Oh wait, that's the guy Chamberpot is supposed to be better than! Awkward.

I said he performed poorly in game 3.

You told me the stats prove that Chambers is a better player. I have given you the stats for this season across both the NRL and SOO and Latrell absolutely murders him. It isn't even close.

I said the stats prove Chambers was better in Origin. Chambers was terrible in game 1 but he outplayed Latrell in games 2 & 3. He also was better in the Storm vs Roosters game
