Seems Flanno lied to greenturds face about following the terms of his suspension when he made his return. No doubt that played a part in the ruling.

Yes, should have self reported/disclosed all, like Barry has done.Thats working well. BTW how did Noyce get the job? Wasn't he a "nice guy"too , like BR?

Haha, flanno lied about him and the club disobeying the rules. Haha.

Hey Todd, the club and I have been in regular contact, can I come back now?

Oh, is that how it works. If only the last 12+ pages could have summarised it.

This thread is just the same argument on repeat now.

Flanagan is known to be confused about the guidelines of his 2014 suspension. Despite being instructed not to communicate with any Sharks players or officials in 2014, the NRL bizarrely allowed him to re-sign with the club during his suspension.

Not allowed to have contact with the club but allowed to have contact with the club

He actually said he was a good bloke and no one ever said a bad word about about him personally. He doesn’t have an axe to grind, but also said he was hopeless.

I don’t know baz from Adam, but he hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory at the sharks yet wouldn’t you say?

I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it's been a tough year, but he's been dealt a bad hand to start his job. Too many businesses see the club as a risk for sponsorship due to numerous indescretions in the past as well as current players who see to attract controversy, but instead of blaming those involved, people blame Baz for "not getting sponsors". The whole Flannagan thing, you can argue he could have said nothing, but he is an honest guy, and that will serve the club well in the long run, some won't see that right now, but hopefully they will down the road.

I can assure you of one thing, Baz is not doing nothing, he works hard, and is working long days...and I don't think anyone here loves the club as much as him. He knows there is a huge job to be done but I'm confident he'll get it done.

Hang on, now I’m confused

You are suspended for 12 months
You must abide by these rules to not contact the club
You must do this course
You can contact the club to negotiate a new contract

So without saying it “crystal clear Todd” negotiate a new contract but not the roster or retention of players? How the f**k does that work?

Anyway, no wonder Flanno is confused

He might be the honest ceo of a chook raffle at this rate.

He’s taken a leap of faith the nrl will look after him and the club and reward his honesty. As you say, time will tell, I’ve got massive doubts.

Cronulla re-signs suspended coach Flanagan on three-year NRL deal

Cronulla has re-signed suspended coach Shane Flanagan to a new three-year contract that will keep him at the Sharks until the end of 2017.

Flanagan is currently serving a one-year ban over governance issues surrounding the club's controversial 2011 supplements program, with assistant Peter Sharp filling in as interim head coach.

Cronulla chief executive Steve Noyce said Flanagan was the right man to lead the club forward.

"It is an important signing for the club as Shane will play a pivotal role in the development of the football operations and in the delivery of sustained and continued success at the Sharks, both on and off the field," Noyce said in a statement

Flanno resigns with sharks after not having any contact with the club or officials

I guess it's kind of like signing packer from his prison cell

Some people simply want to point out the dots and follow the NRL spoon fed picture whereas a couple have joined them and point out the obvious picture.Must be annoying to those who don't want to see it,for whatever reason.......I will admit ,I don't know if it makes any difference anymore.

@Surely in regards to your post
So the NRL didn't question how Flange got signed when he was not supposed to be communicating with the club at the time????
Please tell me the contract was registered with the NRL at this point as well.....
now why can't the "journos" raise these questions

They did. They asked Todd at the press conference yesterday.

They apparently gave him permission to talk to them regarding signing a new contract

One would assume that would have to include details like what players will be in the squad etc

Fair enough. I didn't watch it.

"You can sign him to a new contract but he has no say in which players will be retained or signed, and after the deal is done you are not to talk to him again"

Sounds plausible...

Do the NRL actually have any legal right to tell clubs who they can and can’t talk to?
I see they have said Flano can’t talk to any officials until January.
Why?
He’s deregistered he do whatever the guck he likes now.

Hey flanno you can appeal but you can't talk to the club about it

It's not like it's your employer or anything
