It's interesting how many people on here are giving it to Barry Russell for ratting on his own club and putting us in this position.

Is it possible though he did it on purpose to get Flanno in the shit?

I don't think it is any secret that they haven't seen eye to eye in a few areas and could this be a case of Barrry flexing his muscles and showing who's boss.

I know that Barrry comes off as a nice guy but is he really?

To answer your first question and what Ive heard. Yes.
Would the head coach sign SJ knowing his son is in the mix???....Ive heard it was BR and some others doing the signing. Cracks appearing.
Flanno is gone, even if the investigation comes clean.
Its a shit system but happens at a lot of clubs with boards and CEOS changing. Obviously as you have said, people don't get along or have differing views when changes occur.
Not sure if Barry is a good guy but Im hearing not so good about the coach.

If thats the case I hope hes got a replacement lined up who will bring us a premiership within the next couple of years .Otherwise Im going to find it hard to forgive B.R.. (not that that would worry him I guess, haha)

I think the real issue here is the reason “why?”
Not who has done it?
Not what will happen?

The leader of the club put himself and the club and the players at ENORMOUS risk by not doing what he was told to do by the NRL.
Shane has only himself to blame. He thought he was smarter, he thought he was justified, he thought arrogantly that the suspension wasn’t bona fide.

What example does this set?
The NRL has no choice but to suspend him again. Twice as long I reckon.

Just because other clubs do the same shut doesn’t mean we can. Not all clubs are created equal.

For sure his reason the sharks players and management need to be squeaky clean. It’s bullshit but it’s a fact of being a sharky

Lots of theories.
Yet some facts.
Who stuffed up on Carney dismissal? Not BR.
Who overspent on merchandise post 2016 G/F? Not BR.
Who introduced and accepted Danks into the football organisation? Not BR.
Why have we had sponsors in the past for short periods? Blame BR.
The crap on social media by players, hand tags, road rage, that gets into the press?

If I take over a responsible position in a company,I want to ensure there are no nasties hanging around, so I get the sh*t thrown at me ,if I ignore it and think of England. It's called due diligence.

The reality is the club ,(over the decades I have been following the team), has had well meaning people who love the game involved in leadership, but quite a few have not been up to scratch in administration. Hence the many near death experiences.

As a long suffering fan,I want financial stability, openness ,honesty and competence, both within the football club and the Leagues club. Then everything else will fall into place.

I expect people(as humans) to make mistakes at times. But not repeat them.

The timing of the sanctions on Flange probably isn't the best either. Amongst all the other shit going on the Nrl are going to want to be seen to be taking a strong stance. I'd say 2 years minimum. Also agree that they (both Flanno and the club) should have been a bit smarter throughout the suspension... but being smart isn't a Shar-kee thing unfortunately.
