If not Madge, then who?

I really should be banned from making posts. I clearly have no idea what I am talking about when I judge the Wests Tigers decision makers in a negative way.
Clearly Sheens will attract 4 or 5 top quality players, get this team really humming, Top 8 year after next. Hands the job over to the work experience boy, top 4 year after that.

Whooo Boy. I am so excited !

Yup, it seems those who think they know about footy have decided to get rid of that pesky guy they hired to run the footy side of things who is so annoying because he does know more about footy than them. ( wouldn't be hard. Who doesn't) SOoooo -

Move the guy managing the football side of things out of that job 1 year in to it. ( obviously not an important role, Pascoe and Lee are certain they can manage things just fine.)

Make Sheens head coach for 2 years which wouldn't be long enough for ANY coach to make much of a difference.
When it comes to signing players they will know a new coach will be coming in 2 years, but who? No quality player will be willing to take the chance. In the mean time some of our better players leave.

In 2 years time it will be much harder to sign a quality coach than it is now. (I know. Hard to believe right?)
Players, coach's,fans will be convinced beyond doubt that the Wests Tigers board are incapable of making sensible decisions.

Oh, and by the way. I read the board think it would be a popular decision amongst West Tigers fans if Sheens gets the job.

WARNING TIM SHEENS if you take this job the Tigers fans will be getting stuck into you for every loss, for ever missed signing your fault or not. DON'T TAKE THIS JOB.
Interesting, that he sacked Madge and is now considering taking on the role. I think his ego has got the better of him?

Tim Sheens tells Wests Tigers he’s ready to take top job

Wests Tigers supremo Tim Sheens has indicated to the club that he is willing to step into the hot seat and coach the club next season.
Sources with knowledge of the situation told the Herald that Wests Tigers powerbrokers have approached Sheens to see if he has any interest in returning to NRL coaching a decade after he was sacked by the club.

While the Tigers are still exploring their coaching options for next year, there has been huge support from club greats for Sheens to fill the void created by Michael Maguire’s sacking earlier this season.
The club has approached Sheens to gauge his appetite and are considering offering him the job for next season.

The club knows the 71-year-old would be a short-term solution. He would help get the club back on track and mentor a group of assistants, eventually grooming one of them to take over when he finishes up in a couple of years.
The Tigers are also considering making an offer to Eels forward Nathan Brown to join the club. Brown was recently granted a release from his management company Ignite Sports, which is led by Joe and Johnathan Wehbe.
Brown, who returned to the NRL against the Tigers on Saturday night after a stint in reserve grade, is currently in discussions with other agents.
He will then sit down with the Tigers to discuss a potential return to the club.
Parramatta is unlikely to stand in his way. He has another year to run on his deal.
Two days ago, I thought no chance. Now....he is the favourite to take the role. If he gets the gig, I'll be looking at Dolphins membership options as I live in Queensland.
I've been a Tigers fan since 1988....but if we go down this path, we will well and truly continue to be in the shit.....as no gun player will come here knowing that Sheens is not a long term option. You couldn’t make this stuff up!!! The only bloke who will take the job was the bloke who sued the club after being sacked by the same club!!!
I cannot believe we are doing this!!!

We havnt yet..Its not the club asking Sheens and they may have the brains to hold off and see how noddy gos over the next 3 weeks…I think they and the players would want nothing more than seeing the team at a level over the next 3 weeks to justify giving Noddy a 2 year contract.. I’m seeing good stuff from him I havnt seen before (apart from Brooks still playing and AD still at centre) .Tho I still can’t believe he is the one keeping Brooks on the park. I also saw increased urgency against the warriors. I’m looking at this as a logical progression.

Brooks only came good (I pulled out by then) when the game was over and the pressure was off. Before that everything he did turned the game from bad to even worse…That weak kick at the ball instead of grabbing it or at least making sure of contact told me everything..The only good thing he did was not pass short (another first)

Noddy has the support of the club and the players.. It’s Sheens or Noddy.. let’s see a miracle.. I’m liking everything I’m seeing and hearing from him and about him

I deleted what I originally said here because although it was incredibly clever and funny it probably only would have escalated tension.
I will now attempt to shut up.......But I don't like my chances.

I didn't bother watching the game yesterday which is pretty much the first time ever I have had to chance to watch and decided not to. If Sheens is appointed coach I think I might take that option a lot next year.

Well, if it is happening - I would be very interested in his assistant coaches.

Does he retain Cayless and Noddy? Does he bring in one of his former favourites?

Or do they get their 5 year coach by bringing in Payten after next year?

Like always, never a dull moment at Tiger town.

As for Sheens filling in for next year I'd be wrapped if that included bringing Todd Payten back on good $'s for '24....as far as I know Payten is only signed up there for '23
That's the one hope that I have, if Sheens is coming in for one year it's because he's already worked out with Payten that he will come in '24. Part of me thinks we should do the underhanded Penrith tactic and sign Payten now for '24 and put the cowboys in an awkward position of whether to keep him for next year, but I would assume that Payten has more integrity than a certain former bus driver.
This is all blind hope though, I think the reality is that we simply don't have any other options.

What’s all the Payten talk? I mean why would he want to come back here, he has the cows flying, he gains only heartache coming back here, until we wake up and unfortunately that may be on hold while Sheens is here?

Cows were a rabble before he went up there and if you can believe it he very much wanted the job before Madge came....he knows all things WT as well as anyone and has a strong bond with Sheens
