Re: Benji. Probably my least favourite Dragons player ever. Not work 80k. Don't know what he's like as a bloke but his on field influence is toxic. The guy seriously stagnates play at every touch.

Benji's problem in the last few years is that he simply hasn't shown what he's worth, so you can't blame the market for determining that value.

He hasn't really had a lot to work with in recent years though. The last few years he was at the Tigers, they were shit and the Dragons are a bog average team as well.

Lets see what happens if he ends up at the Storm... If he plods it up down there then you know that he's really gone to shit.

I'd agree with ya but the fact he went to union and failed miserably proves his head is in the clouds. I believe he can still be a threat and attack, especially if he has a quality half outside of him and even a good fullback (Souths for example) but regardless, the only thing in the way of Benji, is Benji.

He could have been paid $300K a year to continue plodding out average performances? At least he could stay in the public eye while he continues building his media role, assuming he is keen on that.

You can see the disappointment all over his face every time he stifles a promising attacking movement (at least 5 times in most games). It's nice that he has conviction but he must surely know inside that he is a spent force
