Heard the news on your mate?

Being shopped around to Super League Clubs or anyone desperate in Sydney for the halfwit…… Oops I mean Halfback.

That aged well……

What aged well?

I'll assume you're talking about Townsend in an unrelated thread?

The premiership is in the record books. It shouldn't be a surprised that an ageing player would eventually move down the pecking order. I don't think I've ever argued that he'd be able to play forever. He got a good deal for his age at the Cowboys. Good luck to him, I say. Club legend.

Would anyone like to apologise to me yet?
HAha!Don't hold your breath waiting. Most of us like pointing it out to all and sundry when we get something even close to right ,but not really interested in acknowledging others astute observations (unless we can jump on the bandwagon for a bit of shared glory.

I think you have been admirably restrained ,so far , No good can come from gloating about it . I am hoping the storm game has given some hard lessons to our coaching staff that you just don't get as an assistant coach. I haven't lost faith in Fitz provided he now takes some belated hard decisions, and becomes a little more proactive with selections to build a winning team .

The 2 finals games last year were his first real test. An off season to fix the defence
Speculating here I know, but in my experience the money men can never help themselves and get too involved with making decisions for those at the coalface. Giving fitz benefit of doubt that he knew he couldn't win it this year with forwards he had ,and said as much to his bosses, Could they have said "Okay but main thing is to play an attractive and exciting brand of Attacking football ? Keep fans interested , and backline stars scoring scintillating ties, for good spectacle for Media and Fans. As long as you do that and beat the lesser sides your job is safe , We mainly want to be having a red hot crack in 2024 , You can play Tough defense then.

Going by the theory that an idiot keeps on doing the same thing all the time expecting a better outcome every time. Would this make Fitzy an idiot.

I think Fitzy has lost the trust.
Would Bennett or Bellamy accept this type of performance with our squad.
Bennett moved Wally on from Broncs, Fitz can't even drop Moylan, Graham or Finucane

That’s where we differ.

You like good and we prefer great.
Comme ci , Comme Ca -- Fitz was always untried as head coach, Morris was probably not entirely ready , being too close to some players. Could he have continued developing at Sharks ? Who knows ? Management rolled the dice chose Fitz. Can he continue developing at Sharks ? He is apparently not the finished product.

For all my criticism, I want him as our long term coach. He has improved performance with what he has. And I think we can go on to top 4 position. I’m really worried that Trindall has not taken over from Moylan. When it’s obvious that Tricky could bring more to the position.

Maybe. Throwing the Baby out with the bathwater is not brightest thing to do either. Anyway Im a proud Declared idiot ,so I keep hoping for better outcomes no matter what!

People today don't understand the value of persistence.

Need instant results or they give up.
Hmmm! true. But I dont think Marchie falls int the "young fella" Category. Persistence in his dictionary probably defined as doing it the way we used to do it, no matter what!

With the exception of maybe trindall I don’t see how making 5 changes does us any good. You have to put yourself in the shoes of those at the club working hard and communicating daily. Fitz can’t just be angry and throw shit and still get respect. This ain’t a case of you f**ked up you are out. There are conversations that take place that none of us in here have any f**king clue about. Get over the flogging last week and calm down.

It's not just about the flogging last week ... it's been obvious since the Souths semi last year that our plan A goes to pieces against the top sides, starting with getting overpowered in the middle.

Doing the same thing over & over and getting reamed by the top sides is wearing very thin now.

Fitzy is definitely being too soft & patient.
Naming the same 17 this week is taking the piss.
Yes I get they *might* be having conversations in private, but does it make any difference when Dale plays like a pensioner, he is literally getting worse by the week.

And what's the bet the Tigers will be having a crack at Trindall now Brooks is going ?

Come on Fitz you are 1 and half years in now - time for action !!!
