RIP Kenny Rogers.
As the son of a long distance trucker I was introduced to Kenny when I was 7/8 years old. I got to know many of his songs whilst travelling with dad on the many trips I took with him as a kid. When I hear ‘The Gambler’, ‘Lucille’, ‘Love lifted me’ amongst many others, it brings back some great memories.

Yep, grew up with my sister absolutely loving him, The Gambler, Coward of the County, Lucille, but mostly Islands in the Stream, always a constant in my house as a kid.

RIP Kenny, I wish I could think of anything else other than MAD TV's pisstake of him hosting Jackass.

Albert Uderzo - co-creator and illustrator of Asterix books. 92.

Loved the Asterix (and Tintin) series as a kid. So much fun and wit. The artwork was fantastic.

Wow, I just presumed they’d have already passed.

I also loved Asterix growing up and would be surprised if I haven’t read them all.

I have no doubt that these comix :) sparked an interest of ancient history in me.

The illustrations were always fun and the plot formula was, and still is like putting on a comfy pair of shoes.

The Iron Monger vs The Fish Monger, get an eyeful if old Geriatrix’s hot missus, call to adventure, f**k up the Pirates ship on the way out, Obelix slaps a few crazy Romans around, f**k up the pirates ship on the way home, finish with a sweet feast of boars (which always looked good) with Cacofinix’s harp wrapped around his head.

Throw in a few historical myths or factoids and that’s a good read for a kid!

The movies are pretty good too. Depardieu was born to play Obelix and plays it magnifique!

Asterix in Britain is a favourite. I liked how the Gauls spend the whole episode hanging shit on the English. Either calling them thieves or stuck-up prudes who talk funny and eat shit food.

Hail Uderzo!

Honor Blackman...

An Avenger, a Cockney vs the Zombies and probably most famously known as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

She was a stunner even to the end.

Sadly has passed at 94.
