This game is a nod to the the Indigenous. It's a chance for Thurston, Inglis and others to represent their people. They're passionate about that. The All Stars concept can't rival that passion.

The Nines is rubbish and so is this game, aside from the Indigenous component. I don't know what the ideal pre-season looks like, but Rugby League doesn't start until Round 1 for me.

Well racism is discriminatory and this is hardly discriminatory is it? Don't think Preston Campbell had any racist designs when he came up with the concept. And I don't think there are any non-Indigenous players who are feeling excluded or discriminated against because they haven't been picked for the Indigenous All Stars,

I don't look forward to the Mickey Mouse and fluff stuff like the 9's or All Stars. It does nothing to increase my interest in RL. Just the opposite. I watched 2 games of the 9's and 40 mins of last nights game with my son, for my son, as he is obsessed with the rugby league and I enjoy that part of it.

However, R1 and the competition proper is all I look forward to. The rest is simply fluff.
