He was unable to cement a spot in an average Bulldogs backline. But he looks a good player in reserve grade

But if Edwards and Mansour are gone for the season. Crichton and Philips are the best/only options we have.
Couldn't displace Morris, Morris, Mbye or Hopoate? Nothing average about them.

Mbye wasnt in the back 5 until this year. Hopoate is the very definition of average. Morris twins had a hell of a lot of injuries between them. Yet he only managed a few games being behind the likes of Holland, Montoya and Lee. Average is being kind to them.

This is why we need a Loan System in the NRL for situations like this.... Still think we will comfortable make the 8 but the 4 will be a stretch now....

I'd back our depth over most 'loan' players we can get.

If Edwards does need the surgery. I'd rather Blake at FB then on the wing if it comes to that. Not sure it will be still DWZ is good on the wing Waqa is wasted there

I'm not downplaying the seriousness of Mansour's injury, but in this age of medical advancements that tweet has got to be a gee-up. WTF is a wacko'swhisper?

We’ll be getting a few guys back before our tough run, of course origin will impact us a bit, but we’re going to need as many back as possible.

May - Could be back this week

Cleary - Round 10/11, so only a few weeks away.

Blake - haven’t heard much, I think he’s due back by round 12?

Those 3 will allow us to rebuild the backline quite nicely

DWZ
Chricton
Whare/Peachey
Blake
Phillips
Maloney
Cleary

14. Peachey/May

In the meantime though,

DWZ
Chricton
Whare
Peachey
Phillips
May
Maloney

Although May is probably a few weeks off a full game, but he can play some minutes at 5/8.

If Cleary is running as reported than Round 10 is possible.

Given NSW Cup has a bye this week. I'd give May that 4th bench spot even 10mins is better than none. He can a full NSW Cup the week after.

I'd go

DWZ
Crichton
CHN
Whare
Phillips
Peachey
Maloney
Merrin
Wallace
RCG
Kikau
Yeo
JFH

Katoa
May
Leota
Tamou

When the likes of Blake comeback it will be good to give KIkau and co more bench time to not burn them out.

I don't expect Blake back before the bye in round 13.

I honestly don't think he is, I understand it will take a medical surgical team to peice his face back together. They already had to wait almost 14 days for the swelling to go down.

I've heard it said that the incident was likened to a major car crash injury.
