Certainly looks like an astute pick up with the benefit of hindsight.

I have also noticed that Kaysa has been heavily involved with the gameday squad since his season ending injury so perhaps he is held in good stead by the coaching staff as well.

Recalling Kaysas one NRL game this season. He was outstanding even without considering the time he had away from the game.

All pre season BA was saying he wanted the boys to increase their physicality out on the field. Seems like it broke them (not putting shit on BA).

Both Peats and Kaysa hit like trains. Im sure you are spot on with your assessment. Need to find an appropriate level of agression to lessen the impact on their bodies.

NATHAN Peats will undergo spinal surgery on Friday with Parramatta officials confident the tough hooker will make a complete recovery in time for next season’s kick off.
Peats suffered a fracture to his C6 vertebra in the second half of the Eels loss to the Sydney Roosters 12 days ago.
Playing the final 36 minutes with a broken neck, Peats finished the match with a remarkable total of 59 tackles.

Incredibly, it wasn’t until the morning after the match that Peats complained of neck soreness when he was then advised to undergo precautionary scans.
Leading spinal surgeon Dr Richard Parkinson, who has previously operated on former NRL star Ben Ross and champion jockey Darren Beadman, will perform the delicate procedure for Peats.
The operation will include the insertion of a plate and a bone graft of his vertebrae.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur said the club would do everything possible to ensure Peats makes a full recovery, with the plan for the 24-year-old to increase his workload in late December.
“Our medical team are confident he’ll be able to slowly apply more pressure to his training and resume full training after Christmas,’’ Arthur said.
“But we’ll ultimately be guided by Peatsy’s rehabilitation and recovery. We’re not going to rush him.’’

The injury has assured Peats is unable to finish this season with the Eels — the second time in as many years after suffering an ACL knee injury last year.News_Image_File: Nathan Peats will undergo surgery this Friday
His omission, as the Eels prepare for their home clash with Cronulla on Saturday, has been compounded by an already overflowing casualty ward of season-ending injuries which includes Beau Champion, Richie Fa’aoso, Danny Wicks, Anthony Watmough, Brad Takairangi, Danny Wicks, Kaysa Pritchard and Kenny Edwards.

Despite the precarious nature of Peats’ neck injury, the Eels are believed to have little interest in luring unwanted Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah.
With Isaac De Gois contracted next season, the Eels coaching staff have a high opinion of Pritchard, while current North Queensland rake Cameron King has also signed a one-year deal with Parramatta for 2016.

I missed most of the first half and didn't catch what happened to Manu. Should I be worried?

I wouldn't worry too much, we've got a dead rubber match against the Raiders and the season is over. I can't imagine it will be a career ending injury.

Dyldam Parramatta Eels second-rower Beau Scott is expected to be available for Round 4, despite sustaining a knock to his shoulder and hip during the Eels’ Round Three encounter with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Fullback Kieren Moss left the field during his debut for the Wentworthville Magpies in Round Three of the Intrust Super Premiership NSW with concussion. Moss will be monitored during the week and will undergo a series of requisite medical assessments.

Under 20s fullback Bevan French is ready to return from a hand injury, while Eels hooker Nathan Peats is likely to miss a total of 2-4 weeks after dislocating his elbow in our Round Two game against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Forward Joseph Ualesi is recovering well from a back injury incurred during the pre-season, with an expected return date of Round 6.

Second-rower Anthony Watmough continues to train on a modified rehab program for a knee injury, with a return date yet to be confirmed.

An update on the Dyldam Parramatta Eels squad heading into Round 7 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Centre Ryan Morgan has hyper-extended a knee during the Wentworthville Magpies’ Round 6 game, and is aiming to return in Round 8 following this week’s ISPNSW bye.

Halfback Luke Kelly sustained an ACL injury in the Wentworthville Magpies’ Round 5 match, and will miss the rest of the 2016 season.

Fullback Bevan French dislocated his elbow in the Eels’ under 20s match on Sunday afternoon, and will likely miss 3-5 further weeks of competition.

Prop Tim Mannah is set to miss 1-2 more weeks of competition with a fractured shoulder blade picked up in the Eels’ Easter Monday win over the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium.

Forward Matt Woods will miss a further 2-4 weeks of competition with a hamstring injury, while centre John Folau is still recovering from a fractured foot.

Anthony Watmough continues to train on a modified rehabilitation program for a knee injury, with a return date yet to be confirmed.
