Yes we are. It's all we have. No one in the camp will elaborate any further. If they wanted to put it to bed, they could.

But I also base it on the evidence that both coaches have been very, very loath to pick a marquee 300k a season (allegedly) buy and have preferred rookies, converted second rowers and liabilities ahead of him.

This.

And good article. I will take an ex player's opinion over the Inu defenders on here. I think Barnett is probably a better judge of attitude and body language on a league field than any of us.

I see where people are coming from saying Inu was thrown in the deep end, and that is true. But he's not inexperienced at fullback - he knows the position and what is required of him. I am sure he's not doped enough to actually wander around confused when he should have been helping the team attack. If Barnett says he wasn't pulling his weight, that's good enough for me.

Having said that, I'd pick him against the Broncos. In the centres.

Yeah he wasn't too sure where to chime into backline moves and probably didn't want to impose himself too much on them since he wasn't quite sure of his role. I mean surely you can't say that he didn't want the ball to attack with in the oppositions 20, if anything a poor attitude will mean he wouldn't want to take dummy half and hit ups coming out of our own end which he did quite a bit of.

Ex-players aren't agenda and bias free.

Consider Ben Elias.

I remember Hugh McGahan laying in the boot to Inu after he was run down by Roberts last year.

...and rightly so - it was a brainless moment from Inu .

Well I am not that into conspiracy theories, so I will take Barnett at face value and not assume he has some secret agenda. Actually, what would the secret agenda here even be?

Barnett is employed by Australian NRL teams to undermine the fans' faith in Inu until he quits rugby league. All the while, Barnett and the Australians know Inu is the messiah of NZ rugby league, and when given 100 first grade games Inu will morph into a higher being and win us the NRL and all future ANZAC tests. Therefore it is critical to invent slurs against the guy to ensure he never reaches his century...

So do I, although I don't pay much heed to anything he and Veitch had to say on the matter. I prefer my opinions from decent citizens.

Barnett's articles is particularly pertinent in the part about Inu not getting involved from the back, wandering around aimlessly etc. We can't see that on screen but they can at the ground. You can be sure Inu can't hide from the coach in that regard.

You could see it on the camera, you could tell he wasn't sure or when to come into the backline. Like I said 'wandering round aimlessley' while we are hot on attack in the oppositions 20 isn't the sign of a bad attitude, if anything doing that when we are trying to work out of our own end with dummy half running and one out hits up is. And he did those.

Genius :sarcasm:

I didn't hear too much from McGahan when Inu's magic got us to one game away from the Grand Final last year.

All I'm saying is that some of these blokes are just waiting for the moment to stick the knife into Inu. You never hear anything from them when he's going well.

Hugh McGahan is like Ray Price and Tommy Radakoinuiskaniousnous, the media get hold of them when someone or a team is playing badly.

Fair enough, but I've never seen Barnett rip into him before. So that doesn't seem entirely relevant.

It may well be that all these commentators have a mutual dislike for Inu, and Barnett has joined their inner circle. But if so, maybe there is a reason.

Isn't Barnett a Kiwis selector? I doubt it's in his interests to become part of some sort of anti-Inu pact or any NZ player for that matter.

Point taken that Inu hasn't played fullback for a long time and might have been feeling his way. But that one-handed carryback crap has no excuses. You wouldn't see any other player in the club doing that at 14-all. or 140-14.

McGahan and co might be keen to stick the knife in but I know I'm not. I really wanted the guy to contribute to the club. He has in waves but he's also been way down on the expectations that should fall on a player of his pedigree.

Yeah I was just taking the piss aye - I am certain Barnett isn't an Inu hater. I think it's funny that people even suggested it, simply because the guy criticised him.

Don't remember any articles like this being written about Ropati after the Bulldogs game:sarcasm:

And when you think about it Ropati's performance there (and the Roosters game) was actually worse than Inu's. Inu had two horrific blunders but was otherwise going ok, while Ropati was getting owned for the entire 80 minutes.

My issue with Inu can be summed up with a quote:
"I never liked you, you wanna know why? You don't curse; I don't trust a man who doesn't curse." Falling down (1993)

He had 1 horrific blunder, that offload was not a horrific blunder, shouldn't have thrown at the time it but the fact that it went to hand and was then dropped by Tupou means it wasn't that bad. And like I've said you see that kind of offload a few times a game, Manu chucks em all the time.
