Actually, in my reading of all these type of threads, it's actually the opposite.

PP states his opinion on the matters, and also says that part of life is people being able to have different opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs.

It seems to me that it's people like RJ who for some reason don't want to allow people to have opinions that are different from their own, choose to always pick up on PP's opinions and can't let them go.. :x

Hardly...Pete never, ever actually debates an issue of any kind with any demonstration of and discussion based in footballing knowledge at all, rather than resorting to quotes, "cheer squad" and "I'm not allowed an opinion" bullsh*t. He's entitled to an opinion, but this is a forum and he should be prepared to discuss that opinion, rather than blow off those with differing opinions with irrelevant quotes, childish nicknames (Like Robert Mugabe....that's classy) and other crap. Until such time, I for one feel perfectly justified in saying that he is, IN MY OPINION as he so loves to emphasise, another idiot with an agenda based on nothing.

Great post, speak for the vast majority.

Nothing wrong with opinions, but discuss them properly and provide facts to back them up.

Get it into your head. I am not comparing Smith to Finch. My opinion is on Smith NO ONE else.

Then why Bring up the golden child in a thread about Finch??

Is it the Fact you wont compare him and finch because Finch isnt the answer?

I dont understand why Finch's name keeps being brought up as the SOO half is it because he kicked a winning field goal 2 series ago?

Terrific post as a matter of fact Robbie.
I speak for the silent minority...although not like you, I haven't been elected their spokesperson.
Why do you take yourselves SO SERIOUSLY?
What facts do you want to see about the golden child. I have two eyes and a brain and a knowledge of the game that has extended over 50 years - they are the only facts that I rely on.
Answer this truthfully. Did Tim Smith improve on his form from 2005 during the 2006/2007/2008 seasons. No explanation just a simple YES or No. Or did he go backwards....
Despite what you may think, I do know a little bit about the game.
I am not a dill..maybe a sh*t stirrer - but definitely not a dill..

Has Luke Burt or Eric Grothe improved from last year?

Has Jeremy Smith or John Morris improved since 2005 and 2006.

Hell has Wagon improved from last year hahaha

Jesus Petree, making it far too easy for me.

And to answer your question in relation too Tim improving his game? he did, 2006 he played badly and 2007 he was tremendous. Also, he reduced the flair in his game in an effort to stop scoring of every play, he matured, he might not have been as flashy since 2005, but other facets such as long kicking game, organization skills and believe it or not his defense was far better last year then ever.

The coach and the players could see this, so could I and others.

Whatever..
I was referring only to Tim Smith..not the others you have mentioned. By bringing in their names, really you are agreeing with me. In your heart you really know he had just one season that could be classed as good..that was the 'home and away' series in 2005, and he clung to that season to perpetrate a myth.
It is immaterial what you or I think about him, Robbie. The Eels have moved on..and so has he..for the better of both parties, in my humble opinion.
I can't change it, neither can you. Ob la di, ob la dah...
Finch is now the MAN....for better or worse. Time will tell...

Brett FInch played well in the City Country Game, he had a great player in TOdd C playing with him and playing behind in a great pack, he set up what 3 out of the 4 tries for Country.

Now in terms of parra, when Guru came off and the re-shuffle of our team happend, what i noticed was that every time we made a break KK was right there, this is due to enthusiasm, Mateo went in the backline and got the ball in finishing positions, Keating combined well with Finch and Finch game got better.

Reddy is better for us on the wing, and when we actually used the ball in our backline we got our weapons in open space Hayne showed us what he can do.

Finch set up Weller, Finch got that miracle ball through where Mateo kicked it for Hindy of all people, Finchy got a great a ball away for burt to set up the last try, finchy had a crap half but so did the whole team.

soft defence, petro try was missd tackle from mateo and cayless 2 of our better players, yes finchy did not play that well in the first half, but we got ourselves in a position to score a try right before half time when burt hit a 40/20 and TT stuffed it.

I think KK might have played himself into our team with his performance this week, enthusiasm, and it is rubbing off.

Paolo, Weller, Oake and KK were great coming off the bench, MoiMoi had a better game, but we need to play more footy and i think we are getting better in the arm wrestle of the game part, we could of lost, gave up and not played better in the second half but to the teams credit this week we dug in and it paid off.

So should you.

Talk of Tim Smith in Brett Finch thread, totally irrelevant to the topic.

Have a look at several postings before I even entered the debate..Save your sermon to the golden child's cheer squad.
I'll determine my own destiny, thanks. I don't need you to tell me where and when I can post...

He's gone, I'm glad, lets move on.

Bazal is right. You make too many pointless names. I didn't say don't post here i said its irrelevant to post in here about Tim. In fact, not that he's left its pointless to talk about him at all.

i'm with eels4life, Finch show for country city proved to me we can win a comp with him.
I am a massive timmy fan, and it was win by 50 one week and get hammered the next. I think when he is healthy that he would be a great asset but atm he is to spasmotic. Finch while not flashy, and struggles from time to time is reliable and will produce... BUT!!! we need a real 5-8 next to him because Mateo and Finchy will never work.

3 years is a bit much, but in that time hodkinson or mortimore can get some experiance at halfback around origin time etc. After 2 years i would let him go tbh, and then move on with one of our young guns. Keating needs to find his feet which shouldn't take long by the way he is playing but to bring a halfback fresh off a knee reco into a side with an inexperianced 5-8 would be a big ask.

I wouldn't mind Head but I'm over toppsy tervy halves who cause myocaridal arythmias!!
Yes i didn't want to write heart attack
