I just think it's garbage that rugby league - a sport that has never had problems with racism and is one of the most inclusive sports in history - has a marquee game involving a team chosen along racial lines. The All Stars game can get f**ked.

naaaah not really. It's just an excuse to play a rep friendly and you have to draw a division somewhere. The naming of the trophy to the Arthur Beetson Trophy shows what this game's PR motive is - celebrating the contribution and success of Aboriginal players in our game. There's nothing wrong with that imho.

Of course it's racist to cheer against the Indigenous team! As are the following things:

* Waving the Australian flag
* Celebrating Invasion Day (or 'Australia Day', as it's called by flag cape wearing, VB drinking, Southern Cross tattooed racists who have no appreciation for the true owners of this land).
* Being proud of being Australian
* Being white and not feeling a deep sense of self-loathing for being so.

Being a supporter of the Indigenous All-Stars and berating the opposition as a "Pack of white merkins!" is, however, perfectly fine...

Indigenous all stars supporters are racist for not supporting the NRL All stars side because it has white people in it. Reverse racism at it's best.

Considering that the All Stars have had New Zealanders, Pacific Islanders and players like Hayne/Jennings/Civoniceva in the past.. how can cheering for them be considered racist? They are the most multi cultural team put together to be honest..
