Is it time for Benji to get the sack? I am in the "Yes". We seem to have stalled in terms of team improvement. We bought a couple of lemons in Bird and Hunt. Api has really trended downwards this season and Luai has been overpaid for his contribution. The casual approach to footy from Benji is just not working.

The ONLY defence Benji has is the fact that our roster in all reality is definitely a bottom four roster.

I say no but only because changing coaches has never worked for us. Why repeat the process again.

I think we have to stick with the hail mary play and hope it comes off.

If you ask for any evidence of this approach working though I'm going to STFU.

I think changing our coach when we are striving to be consistent is not the answer.
Coaching generally has been poor, but I've said it before that new coaches take time to mold a side.
Ciraldo chopped and changed until he got the right mix.
Benji is still working on the roster too.
His job is safe for 2026 imo, but
beyond that, it will depend on whether we make the 8 or not.

With Madge I said we should stick with him until we can actually get someone better. Instead we sacked him and ended up with Sheens and Benji who have proven to be much worse.

If we sack Benji we probably lose half our playing roster and no coach with any half way decent options will come to us so we might as well stick it out since we have gone through his learning period. Starting from scratch again wont get us any closer to solving our problems.

And on top of that his record isn't too bad based on the Tigers low base. First year in charge he increased our wins 50% from 4 to 6. If we have a decent finish to the year he will have increase our wins again by 50% from 6 to 9 (hopefully).

If he achieves that then I reckon he has earnt at least another year.

A classic case of the negative repercussions of cronyism where a favourite son who is unqualified & unmerited is gifted a job way above his station in life by 2 lazy rugby league clueless imbeciles Hag & Pascoe. We are atrocious & weve regressed since start of season & Benji’s inexperience through illogical decision making has fingerprints all over this rabble.Hence he & the rest of the cronies on coaching staff must be sacked & be replaced by people who have displayed excellence in serving their apprenticeships & preferably have no history with this shithole.

No doubt Benji has strongly aligned with the most influential & senior players especially Luai & Api knowing it protects him from getting sacked. Its why he was so intent to retain Api instead of TDS.Ive become unconcerned about losing players as a result of him being sacked coz the garbage they’ve exhibited apart from May makes them all disposable especially the overpaid fraudster Luai.
2 months ago I thought we’d easily notch up 9-10 wins & I banked on beating the tits & cows at the 8th.However the soft gift tries this spineless knuckle headed rabble continually concedes it won’t surprise me if we don’t win another game.

Saw this comment on the other site and no idea if it is true but

"Only 3 teams this year (After 16 games played) have had a combination of more wins, less losses, better for and better against than after 16 games from last year."

Improvement might not be happening as fast as we want but it is happening.

In saying all that I am not a big believer in Benji's coaching and think it has been sub standard. But have a better option ready before talking about sacking him and I don't believe a super league coach would have any success here.

I just mentioned this is another thread.

I don't see any other option other than sticking with this approach for now but it's depressing.

Changing the coach, because the rebuild is taking longer than we thought is crazy.
So we change the coach and start again and repeat every few years.
It's a NO for me.
Technically he has improved the side from the last 3 years at least, with the number of wins.
But I agree, losing sucks, but more time for him and the team is needed.

There's always something in life that takes away the pain of being let down.
For me, right now, it's a ham, tomato, cheese, beetroot and lettuce sandwich on fresh bakers bread that's still warm, and a cuppa of my fav roasted bean coffee....yum yum pig's bum makes good chewy gum :)

Here here!
I was devastated during COVID when the food grocery store shelves were void of beetroot. Back to normal thank god :)
Ted, do you like pineapple on the said, ham and salad sandwich?
I certainly like pineapple albeit it’s just behind beetroot in the pecking order

I think if Marshall wins 3 more games he’ll be safe. But if he wins less than 3, surely his tenure will be looked at. We have a very capable coach in Morris in my eyes in waiting. And it was he that I wanted to coach this rabble 3 years ago.

No, the team is a bottom four team.

However, he could do with some quality experienced assistants.

I think he's safe, certainly to the half way mark of next year, he's getting his team together, he will be judged then. But he's still learning as well.
It certainly hasn't been smooth sailing with the ins and outs of the team though.
But I think we need to look at assistants, though the problem is, if Benji doesn't want you, you know it. So it's all on him, in the end.

We play the Titans twice. If we lose both games, I think WT pulls the trigger.
