Yeah we've now had multiple different people claim that it happened, but King hit who despises Latrell, and self-confessed Cronulla rioter Danish know better.
There was some booing when Mitchell first touched the ball. The connotation was pretty clear and it wasn't limited to one section of the crowd - although I believe most people didn't join in.

When the AFL made it fashionable, it was allowed to continue unabated and even encouraged by the AFL backed media, with blatant racist Sam Newman leading the charge and the more insidious Eddie McGuire joining in. The AFL even later admitted they should have stepped in earlier, although this was more of a face-saving and PR exercise.

The NRL have plenty of faults, but good on them for trying to nip this in the bud.

At Kogarah, something wasn't right. Drunks behind me joking about the booing in a stupid manner, using the C word liberally... and of course, certain rumours spreading across the ground.

One such rumour was that the Skull had managed to get through the gates. He is banned from the ground but occasionally sneaks in. This was confirmed when I saw him being escorted out by security - a sad and frail looking old man who needed the two security guards just to keep him steady on his feet. I'm not saying he was involved in any racism that day, although he has a track record. Perhaps it was just a coincidence.

And yeah, it's funny how you can be at the game and know that something is wrong. But a Cronulla riot apologist knows better.

I'm not sure about that revision of history but personal abuse directed towards any player is not acceptable at any level.

I see nothing wrong with booing a player, Titans crowd kept booing Fifita on the weekend for example because he was leaving for the Roosters, imo the majority of the booing Walker and Mitchell receive is because they are a pair of bludgers, Mitchell spends half the game walking behind the play for example, constantly out of position in defence and doesn't put in, nothing to do with them being indigenous.

That being said if any of it is race based it should be stamped out.

I don't see booing someone as abuse.

Verbally slagging off a player based on something other than work ethic or lack of talent or being overpaid is abuse.

The thing is, when you boo someone, the recipient doesn't necessarily know what is motivating it. Hence they can interpret it as abusive or some such.

For example, at the 2013 Grand Final, when it was announced that DCE had won the Clive Churchill Medal, many in the crowd booed, which many pundits took as the crowd being disrespectful to the memory of Clive Churchill as his wife was on the stage for the presentation. Thing is the booing had nothing to do with the Churchills, and more that many couldn't believe that DCE who was on a losing team, was considered the "best on ground" for that game, and that was the reason for the booing.

I agree the booing was all about who won the Churchill Medal that day.

Shane Hayne was clearly "best on ground", and subsequently robbed.

South Sydney fullback Latrell Mitchell has leapt to the defence of his club and his teammates, calling out NRL 360 host Braith Anasta over a series of perceived personal attacks outside a popular Sydney restaurant.
Mitchell was dining with his family at the Surry Hills establishment Chin Chin on Wednesday night, the same restaurant where Anasta was having dinner with his own family, and decided to voice his frustrations over the treatment of him and his teammates.

& the clown wonders why a vast majority of NRL fans don't like him.

Is it ok to call a player a fat lazy barsteward? Or the ref a anker? Asking for a friend.
there is a huge difference between offensive/abusive/insulting language and your run of the mill jawing. Racial and homophobic slurs certainly fall into the category of offensive and abusive language

My advice is not to go that far with the personal stuff. Try to be more creative or more direct.

I like to call players or referees - bludgers. It's a more across the board abuse that gets the point across but can't be considered personal.

Why is Latrell worried about what a washed up footballer is saying on a tv show he hosts. All players claim they never watch it anyway cause its all BS.

The problem with Latrell is he is too worried about every little word said about him or criticism of him as a footballer and then tries to turn himself into a victim this, victim that.

Souths wonder why they are in situation right now only have to look at the bloke they are paying close to a million a year for and the rope they have given him.

Here is the article that started the feud between Latrell and Braith.

Latrell Mitchell savaged by Braith Anasta as 'damning' footage comes to light

The hits keep coming for the under-fire South Sydney fullback, who will miss the final-round blockbuster with the Roosters.

Braith Anasta has called out Latrell Mitchell over his lacklustre display for the Rabbitohs against the Knights on Sunday, highlighting a number of key moments that exposed his lack of effort. Mitchell has been widely criticised for his display with Souths' season in freefall, which has culminated in him being suspended for the final-round blockbuster against the Roosters that could decide who makes the finals and who doesn't.

“Tell me another fullback in the game who stands still like that and doesn’t support up the middle of the ruck,” Anasta said on NRL 360. “Tell me whatever you want to tell me and he is not solely to blame, but he is the leader at that club. He is the barometer and once he starts making better decisions and wears his heart on his sleeve (they will get better).”
