2017 NRL left it to clubs to dish out the punishment (no criminal charge)
2021 NRL hands out 1 match ban to 3 players fines of $30k, $15k and $4k (no criminal charge)
2021 NRL hands out 2 match ban to a player $5k fine (possession charge)
2023 NRL hands out 1 match ban and $25k fine to a player (no criminal charge)
2024 alleged Latrell facing 1 match ban ? fine

so yeh generally quite consistent in their slap on the wrist with a wet lettuce. Largely because it would be unprovable if they went hard on them I suspect.
