Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

I have doubts that even a God like coach such as Sticky can turn around Taylor. But we can't really lose. He either pulls his finger out and we get a good player on the cheap, or the local pie shops get a revenue boost for a few months. Win/win for the Canberra region.

Only risk is he'll put in a good pre-season, get a contract then go to shit by mid-season. That trend pretty much sums up his RL career here and overseas. Usually I'd lean toward thinking that he'll now have realised this will be his last chance and that shit won't fly anymore but I'm not sure Dave could realise the difference between night and day in under 30 seconds if put on the spot.

f**k the Raiders will be tipping the scales as the biggest squad in the comp if he does get a gig and unlike the Bulldogs they're not just fat slobs who think they're 5/8s.

Did he? I forgot. Another one then.

He won one coaching the Bulldogs under 20's team too
He was at Canterbury - the Roosters signed him from there

His 2002 Premiership with the Roosters was his second in a row - albeit at different grades

I can't pretend to read sezers mind but he signed with us when DCE signed with the Titans. He was reported signed on ~500k which is pretty standard nrl halfback money.

So he came to the raiders because he saw himself getting pushed out by dce. What's interesting is that he stuck with the Canberra deal after dce back flipped

Well one of the biggest impediments to signing for Canberra is that it's a shit hole no one would want to live in
But when you're used to the Gold Coast............

Maybe he's a fan of fine art and the National Gallery was too good to pass up
Yeah - that'd be it

I'm taking my first trip to Australia this Xmas (Gold Coast). Is Canberra really that much of a shit hole? Why?...cos there's no beach to build sand castles on for these lil bitch players like Milford n co?

Why aren't you going on holiday to Canberra? Havent spent a lot of time there but its just boring and cold from my experience. In summer in a hot ass country like Australia if you aren't close to a beach its pretty f**ked.

It’s not as bad as people like to think. We have trouble attracting players because of that line of thinking but we’ve never had trouble re-signing players once they’ve settled here. It’s a pretty easy place to live, not really a holiday destination though.

I read Ricky might be on a short list for an Australian type of the year award.

The joke of these types of awards aside we only came third, they might have made him King of Australia if we'd have won the comp.

Oh and Canberra is fine, we just spread the rumor its not to keep the minimum wagers out.

100,000 K per year or youre not welcome.

That's what im getting at, I wouldn't call Canberra a whole but playing for any of the Sydney or QLD teams you can live in a holiday destination or very close to it. The 4 west teams obviously aren't holiday destinations but many players and coaches live in the east or shire and commute, same for Brisvegas, it barely a holiday destination itself but it is surrounded by some of the best.

Yeah that's an issue. When a guy leaves a Sydney club he can sign with another one without moving.

Canberra is alright. It's not as livable to me as the inner west but I like cities. Canberra is nice and it's good for people who aren't into that big city lifestyle.

It's just rich young men are statistically going to be attracted to the eastern suburbs or the like. Canberra is nicer than its reputation though. Even Josh Hodgson (who lived in hull !!!!) was warned by friends and family that Canberra is a hole. He must have thought he was going to Detroit lol.
