I said it in a thread on the Sharks forum, I really don’t see any identity to the Raiders style of play - they just look like they’re going through the motions.

When they made the GF, they had a style of ripping teams apart up the ruck, quick ptb’s, off loads, just pouring forward in numbers at every opportunity around the ruck, their momentum was unstoppable.

Nowadays it’s just 4 bland hit ups, let Wighton try do something on 1 tackle, and then let Wighton kick it as far and high as possible - there doesn’t appear to be a game plan of any sorts.

They’re dull to watch and just pretty shit. There’s no signs of game day of anything they’ve worked on during the week. No specific tactics for the opposition that week, no obvious style of play, just meh.

Another feature of their play in 2019 was the one-on-one strip, they were the masters of it. They’d turn the game on its head regularly by pulling off steals out of nowhere.

Even in 2019 our attack was pretty pedestrian... we relied a lot on individual brilliance. Stuart's modus operandi has always been slow, grinding one out footy, unless he inherits a team of well drilled superstars (2002)

Spot on. Passers by didnt really notice it, but that team defended it's arse off, played really hard and had peak Papalii, Wighton in scorching hot form, Croker and Whitehead were still threats as attacking players, and then we had John Bateman and BJ/Rapana all whom were a force of nature.
It was a tough defence team who relied heavily on it's superstars to create out of structure

and it got us close that had things go a little more our way on the night, we could have lifted the trophy. But it was a narrow path to walk.

Just an absolute petulant f**kwit that never disappoints. His pressers are better than some shows on Netflix.

Sounds like a lot like the Knights too tbh. Good lord I can't wait for that matchup.

I'll grow a full head of hair before the Stick gets the boot.

The only way he'll go is if he gets a better gig. Which only a mental case would give him

Pretty much. My only hope is the last two times shit was this dark under Stick we went on to make Prems or the GF.
