Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

His parents have said that Ricky has had nothing to do with him since he was 12.

If Ricky had a negative opinion of Salmon based on what Salmon did to his kid what would Salmon have done since then for Ricky to have cause to change his opinion. Surely you don't think kicking one of Ricky's players in the groin and face is going to improve his opinion.

Firstly, whatever Salmon did to Ricky’s kid was done before he was even a teenager.

Secondly, You’re assuming the his kick to Starling’s nads was intentional. From my perspective the kick looked like any reaction as the result of trying to get off the ground after being held and unfortunately for Starling, Salmon’s boot unluckily found his nuts.

If my 10 year old was to deck/bully or worse someone else's kid should I expect the victims parents to just get over it because he was just 10 and therefore it's all good.

No I wouldn't I would completely understand that the victims parents would not be a fan of my son and would have every right to have a negative opinion of him.

So much so that you'd be happy with those parents using a huge public platform to talk about the incident a decade later? Labelling your kid a "dog"?

I doubt it... Very much.

And if they brought it up in public 12 f**king years later and bad mouthed him in a forum available to thousands if not millions of people, would you still be cool with it?

Well, let’s see….. Yeah. He was 10.

1. He was an immature kid at the time. I take it you understand why kids are treated differently to adults in regards to criminal law for example?

2. It was over a decade ago.

3. Jaeman is now an adult and who’s to say that he isn’t a changed human being as a result?

How has he apologised?? He has not once recanted his comments and apologised to Salmon.

Are you suggesting that Ricky no longer believes Salmon is a weak gutted dog person?

The apology was for causing a media circus and getting his own family involved.

We don't even know if Salmon did anything like that, it could've been a million things, a lot of things happen between young kids that can upset an over protective parent. Ricky seems fully capable of completely blowing the actions of a child out of proportion, he comes of as prickly merkin at the best of times.

Ricky is sorry for using the platform to call Jaeman Salmon a WGDP.

No doubt he is also sorry for any offence that people may have taken when calling Jaeman Salmon a WGDP.

I'm sure he's also sorry to all WGDPs for associating them with Jaeman Salmon.

Having now learned about the backstory, all it confirms to me is how much of a vindictive turd Stuart actually is. It was a momentary incident in junior footy 12 years ago ffs. How does he even remember it?? Not to mention the bad example it sets that here we have a head coach in the NRL that almost got into a parental blue at a junior footy game. I thought that sort of petty shit was 100% frowned upon in the sporting world?

He needs to cop it, I'm sorry. He has made himself look like a massive dick, and I feel sorry for Whitehead having to sit next to the wanker while he had his meltdown.

This says it well.

You are also assuming that whatever Jayden did at the time was horrible and not in any way brought on by Ricky’s kid (who had the misfortune of being raised by Ricky). Ricky is a fantasist; you just need to listen to his press conferences to see. I’d bet whatever Salmon is alleged to have done was a) probably nowhere near as bad as it has grown to be in Ricky’s head and b) potentially the result of both boys behaviour all those years ago.

I mean, Ricky Stuart can control these people’s every action with a sound, not too crazy to imagine he can also implant the perception of a person who is not there

Ricky needs to re-watch the incident. Starling is standing there with his legs clamped on Salmons leg, and Salmon has no view of this and is trying to break his leg out of the hold. No way he could tell where he was going to strike anyone if anywhere.

Doesn't look intentional. I mean obviously kicking out risks hitting blokes so it's Salmons fault. But Starling put himself in the position to cop a kick there. With how many players try to get quick play the balls kicking around like mad men, you wouldn't see me trying to slow a play the ball down like that.
