Seeing he thinks his side is of NSW Cup quality, and he hasn't won back to back in so, so long - surely he won't mind if a journalist puts it to him that he's not a FG standard coach either? I would love that to happen, but he'd probably make a scene and attack the journalist even though it's a very fair statement and one he was happy to make towards his players.

I think if I was a Raiders player, I'd be pretty unmotivated to fire up for Ricky Bob (just learned his middle name now, surprised Rothfield doesn't run with it ala Phillip Ronald) with his putrid record, describing me and my team-mates as non-FG standard.

He seems to think lighting fires under his players by yelling at them and criticising is a legitimate coaching practice. No wonder his teams seem to sink further and further under him.

No doubt, but he's had them for 20 rounds - by now you'd expect a good coach would have moved them further towards being FG standard or picked someone else. Doesn't seem like either is happening.

The Milford to the bench one against the Bulldogs is the one that stands out as the 'geezus you're f**king hopeless Ricky' moment. Dunno how you as fans feel but watching it, it was painful watching RR spud it up with the best attacking weapon riding the pine - against a very beatable side that week.

I think there are some guys who definitely look well below NRL standard this season who do have it in them to be solid NRL players if you can get them playing hard.
