Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

That’s a long post to show you’re missing the point
His point is essentially correct. You're right. But he's still a massive hypocrite. Waah waah the Raiders are so hard done by? Rapana should have been banned for three weeks. Concurrent bans are ridiculous.

But yes, the NRL have been inconsistent, I get that. Doesn't change the fact that Ricky had a massively unjust sook.

He has whinged so much in the past that the effect has definitely worn off. He should have used different language too to convey his point (I’m surprised that there hasn’t been any media/social uproar about the choice of language although maybe give it time)

Nevertheless, his criticisms are pretty valid. There is no consistency in the application of rules and standards and supposed rules and standards are often bent for the benefit of certain clubs.

This all leads to the perception (justified or not) that there is one rule for certain clubs and one for others.

What are you actually trying to say here? You contradict yourself repeatedly.

Well we’ll find out what Ricky’s made of with Fogarty out for most of the season. FFS.

He’s best mates with the media, he feeds them these stories so they love him. look at the leaks and spin around Williams That the media were happy to propagate.

My point is that Ricky is a sook and it's all woe is us when something goes against the Raiders, and it's the worst thing that's ever happened in the league. But when something benefits his club, he's deathly silent. When he says 'it's the Canberra Raiders copping it up the arse again' that clearly means he thinks they're the biggest victims. Oh yeah then he says 'I am in disbelief and disgusted that it always seems to happen to us.' Waah waah I'm so victimised.

The NRL f**ked something up again but a guy who drove drunk then didn't bother to use his arms two times in quick succession doesn't qualify for a givealittle page.

if he just settles for sam williams then thats our season gone, we will be 5-10 by the time fogarty returns

he should go with either
frawley /wighton .. 2 five eights yes but one is a kicking half ( frawley not jack lol)
hodgson/wighton .. starling to play 80 minutes

or try both over the first few weeks & see which works ,
its a huge blow , but we can overcome it with the right replacement /s

I get that he whinges a lot but you have to look at the power dynamic. The Raiders are not a powerful club so he is simply pushing their barrow which benefits the club enormously. Do you think that if he wasn’t there that the Raiders’ position would get anywhere near as much traction as it does. Anyway, every coach or club is trying to gain an advantage and do it regularly through the media-

Btw he is quite right about how rules are continually bent for the benefit of certain clubs. If you don’t want people to whinge then the ARLC should just apply the rules as they were rather than change for somebody’s interest (and they do it constantly)

Anyway you could better list a whole bunch of thing to complain about: the inefficacy of the salary cap, failure to expand the game properly, problems with junior development/country RL; player managers and the transfer market and constant media bagging of the game as just some

He should work in a hospital nursery.

He should work in a hospital nursery.

As I said he is probably doing it for a purpose (i.e manipulating or controlling a media narrative to benefit their club - which they all do) I would be very surprised if he is actually affected by it as much as the media are portraying it.

Anyway, I don’t really get the relativistic argument you have put forth. You don’t have to work in a hospital nursery to have the right to whinge about something (most people do). That is unless you are able to practice stoicism perfectly.
