Is Sam Burgess the new Adrian Morley

Sam Burgess ran away from Steve Matai. Adrian Morley laid the little cat out immediately after smashing Jason King. That's the difference.

I remember reading an article about Burgess in regards to injuries he played through last season. One of the injuries was that he kept dislocating one of his knee cartilages and it went on for about 4 weeks. I popped my knee cartilage years ago and it was excruciating! To be playing rugby league and for it to continually be popping in and out demonstrates his extreme toughness, or stupidity.

Dirty play should have always been legal when it was done to hurt Corey Hughes

wow i hadn't seen the footage of that before.

that is extremely dangerous

I hadn't really seen that angle from behind Burgess until now.

I didn't think there was too much in it at the time but that was dangerous. Grade 1 - no way.

Can you be a tough enforcer without having some grub in you? Surely a nice enforcer is an oxymoron? I'd rather have burgess in my team than have him playing against my team!

Exactly.......i dont recall Matai ever running out of the line to put a shot on the great man, but he had no fear doin it against media pet Burgers.

I never tire of this vid showing Matai accidentally relieve his bowel.

One of my favourite NRL vids

Morley was much tougher than Burgess currently is...maybe that'll change over time. But as things stand Morley was the chief enforcer in a team that played in three straight GFs.

His 3 best games for our club were probably all GFs. Easily our best on ground in both the 03 and 04 GFs. And his next best games were all finals matches. A true big game player and leader if ever there was one.

Burgess has more talent; but he has a long way to go before he matches Morley's resume. I suspect he will though because he's a sensational player. Clearly one of the two best forwards in the game along with SBW.

Morley was outstanding in the 2003 GF (as was Crocker), but I thought Hegarty was our true best.

Certainly, Morley had a case, though.

Yeh its fair to say Burgers is a more talented player but he has nowhere near the Morley fear factor. To see some of his eras hardest men running sideways to get away from him says all you need to know (apart from that mental defect Martin Lang who didnt know when enough was enough ). The continual gayification of the game will ensure Burgers gets nowhere near the Moz hardness, not that i believe he has it in him anyway.

Burgess is better than Morley and i think you've forgot how big a grub Morley is/was.

Didn't he get a lengthy ban for kneeing someone who was on the ground in the face when he played for the Roosters?

Most overrated incident ever. Give someone a bit of a push with his knee and the guy dived over.
