I refer to us as Saints, and I was a Steeler in the pre-99 world. When we merged they stopped calling us Saints.

too bad so sad...When we merged they stopped calling us Saints.
By selling all their shares to WIN, Illawarra has written themselves out of the joint venture. I would say that there no joint venture anymore. Just like South Sydney is not a joint venture even though they have an investor holding a significant share holding. When Tinkler took over Newcastle it was not a joint venture and the Manly club is not a joint venture.
In my mind the Club is now the St George Dragons and WIN are an investor holding 50% of the shares.
When we merged they stopped calling us Saints.
But the media and co stopped calling us Saints.I refer to us as Saints, and I was a Steeler in the pre-99 world.
Funny how perspective can make us view things differently. But the media and co stopped calling us Saints.
Muzby acts like he is god, disses all except the apologists.Y’know, I attempted to ask the same question in another thread but was ‘dissed’ by Muzby ‘leading’ the way.
It’s a serious matter which relates to our club’s history.
Some clarity would be nice.
Personally, I don’t see how SGI can still operate under the guise of a JV if the one Illawarra Steelers’ Board member cannot exert any voting rights which are bereft of substance.
But the media and co stopped calling us Saints.
Always Saints, Illawarra is at the end of the sentence for good reason.Funny how perspective can make us view things differently.
For years I'd get the shits when we'd be referred to as St George or Saints and not St George Illawarra..
So it would stick out for me like dogs balls how often the media would call us saints...
I agree.Muzby acts like he is god, disses all except the apologists.
Staff member, sack nugget, sack doust, sack muzby.
Of course you were.I refer to us as Saints, and I was a Steeler in the pre-99 world.
Nah, you gotta follow the $$$ and look after those that pay the bills.Always Saints, Illawarra is at the end of the sentence for good reason.
It’s the word we all need to drop off.
St George Dragons.
Sounds perfect.
Perfect possumSt George saved Illawarra by inviting them a lifeline. Illawarra could not pay their way and eventually sold their shares to WIN. WIN is now an investor and St George Leagues Club is the other investor. Illawarra took the cash and paid its debts. Illawarra no long hold any shares so are no longer an owner and so no longer have a say and so are no longer in the NRL..
Technically spot on.St George saved Illawarra by inviting them a lifeline. Illawarra could not pay their way and eventually sold their shares to WIN. We had more standalone. Fans didn't double when the merge happened, we didn't all of a sudden double our income or crowds. Both sides lost fans as well.Good way to alienate a chunk of your fan base.
Like an Aldi team memberI agree.
That muzby guy is a jerk.
But awesome special buys twice a week!Like an Aldi team member
Annoying, lazy, and poor communication skills.
Yeah the same NRL who we stood by during the super league war! When super league and ARL merged and formed the NRL they took on the side with the bigger history ie ARL's . How is it so when the same thing happened with St George and Illawarra that they scrapped the Saints history from continuing. Double standards or our directors were just weak as piss. This can be corrected with strong leadership.
I at the time wanted us to go super league, we made a grave mistake sticking with ARL.Yeah the same NRL who we stood by during the super league war!
