Is that the most one-sided refereeing performance you've seen this year?

Wish the refs boss had got on the phone to his refs so rapana wasn't penalised lol.

Cant complain about the refs in the raiders/sharks game. They allowed both teams to lay in the ruck too long but thats final footy for ya.

It was a bit annoying that lee got tackled in the air after they penalised rapana for going for the ball a matter of hours after archer said thats allowed but thats really small fries in an nrl game.

We saw the same penalty given tonight, for an even less dangerous tackle, when Rapana was merely contesting the football.

It's become such a common interpretation that it's easy to see where the confusion arose.

Again, Archer believes the call was wrong in hindsight and I'm happy to admit I was wrong in retrospect. However, it's an issue that has benefited more teams than just the Broncos.

Also...

When Hoffman pushed Pearson off the ball, that wasn't considered a chance?

When they gave Bird the penalty when he lost the ball which led to the Mead try, that wasn't a chance?

Those calls all happened early and had a major bearing on the game. One was completely wrong, the other contentious and yet we're led to believe the Titans received zero calls?

Not one poster is saying that the Titans received zero calls, you're the only one who's mentioned such a thing. The fact you cannot accept the Titans were reffed out of the game, and were not given a chance to win it on their own merits. Stating anything contrary to that shows your clear bias, I honestly thought you were above that, obviously i was wrong.

Well, I wasn't specifically calling out posters. In that instance I was referring to the media where I've had heard several outlets report that Brisbane received ALL the calls which clearly wasn't the case.

However, a quick search shows that fourplay (38th post) made that comment, so maybe you should do some research before you try your tried and true 'not one poster...' argument.

And it's not that I find those sentiments that ridiculous. They're fairly common and you see them tossed around every week. It's the 'it's 'worst ever' I find ridiculous and I'm entitled to have that opinion based on the arguments I've presented.

So far, the only argument you've made is an ad hominem. Sorry if I don't find it persuasive or constructive.

The "game changing" terrible officiating is such a hackneyed rugby league cliche...

Point taken re: the one poster who mentioned that the Titans didn't get any calls..

The sentiment is indeed ridiculous, even though you'll find people saying that a call her or there was ridiculous now and then, certainly not week after week as you've claimed. It does happen a few times during the year, but every week? C'mon Pete.

When you look at the game in it's entirety it was the worst officiating performance I've seen in my 40+ year watching the NSWRL, ARL & NRL. If you object to this sentiment, i'll happily await until you can show me another referring performance that was worse.
Do you actually believe that my argument is directed at you alone ? if so the island mentality is indeed alive and well.

There is a chance that the Broncos fans are right, you're all correct and the rest of the RL community are wrong.

The refs always come in to games with a preconceived idea of who will win - only when the teams are fairly evenly matched do you get anything resembling a fairly reffed game.

We are certainly used to copping all the bad calls.

This is true, and is the essence of human nature. I would say they come in with a preconceived idea of who 'should win' in terms of the NRL, the table, the bookies etc. Until we find robots to referee who can't read newspapers or look at form guides, it'll continue until the day the game dies.

So what qualifies it as the worst exactly? The two incorrect decisions? What other calls were there that make it the worst officiated game in forty years?

Let's start it simple and use the infamous Round 17 2002 clash as a barometer. Bill Harrigan penalised the Eels 11-3 and binned four players part-way through the second half. The performance was deemed so bad, he was stood down afterwards. What made Friday night's game worse than that performance?

20 pages of long time rugby league people generally saying it was the worst officiating they can remember suggest it was the worst, one side display of refereeing most of us, except Broncos fans, can remember.

However, swap every decision made on Friday night and of course Bronco fans would not comment negatively at all.

But Storm/Cowboys game was reffed absolutely fine and even the Raiders/Sharks had maybe one or two questionable , it's clearly not impossible.

Nope, if you go to Suncorp expect to be shafted by the refs unfairly.

This.

This has been the only game I can remember where the consensus has been it was a f**king shit job by the refs.

It was everywhere, not just LU, not just league fans....casual observers etc.
Literally the only ones that disagree are a percentage of Broncos fans.

If the shoe was on the other foot, I'm sure it would change everybody's perspective, not just Brisbane supporters.

But I get it, fans don't want to have a discussion, they just want to vent.
