Is there a more consistant player than Robbie Farah

It's easy to see a star player in an opposition team - which most of you guys see in Farah.

When you hear fans talk about that crucial un-noticed played in their side... they often talk of guys like Tongue and Hindmarsh.

For us - Farah runs our sh*t. If he doesn't go good... our team doesn't go good. Our entire team of forwards drop their game due to the service being poor. Our halves can't keep up. Our backs basically don't get a look in.

He threw a few of these in recently. The Storm game for example. He was just a little off. A slight knock on at dummy half. Forwards half a metre in front of the ideal position to receive the ball. Marshall not seeing space due to a lack of a kicking game or space from forwards. It destroys the entire team when he doesn't play well.

Interestingly... he still set up around 3 trys and out-performed a certain QLD and AUS dummy half, playing his standard footy.

I'd wager we'd have won the spoon in recent seasons without him (as others have suggested)... and we'd have struggled to make the 8 this season without him.

He's a special player and should have played for NSW. He couldn't have won sh*t by himself, considering what was around him, but he'd have delivered far better than the dribble Ennis served up. He's 10 times better than Smith... but he's got a reputation. Farah needs to bide his time for a Roos spot. If NZ do what they should do, and romp the 4N... Smith's estimation may go down, especially after a non-existent season when things aren't going well. Playing without half an Aussie team around him.... Smith may well be shown up, and Farah will get his deserved Green and Gold jersey.

At club level Farah is consistently the best hooker in the NRL. If I was choosing a hooker and Farah/C.Smith were the same asking price I would take Farah without hesitation.

And yet apparently Michael Ennis is a better option for NSW!

And people wonder why NSW dont have a hope in hell until the cancerous NSW selection panel is cut out.

Ive always maintained that at club level Farah is the first hooker id pick to have on my team. He can dominate a game from the no. 9 spot in attack better than any hooker ive ever seen.

Great player.

Maybe if he didn't play like rubbish he would of kept his spot. I agree hes better then Ennis but if you think Farrah would of changed anything you're kidding yourself.

Farah was 4th last year according to wikipedia.

Does anyone have any stats on placings in previous years? It would be interesting to see who scores highest over 2+ year periods...

Here is a prime example of what we are talking about. Farah did well but lay off the drugs. Smith proved in origin how far ahead he was unless things have changed.

Yeah, because when Farah and Smith faced off in SOO they had similar talent at their disposal :sarcasm:

Smith is a great player mainly because he has some great combinations with slater, cronk and Inglis, etc.
Which are based on him being illegally paid and part of an illegal team. Take smith out of the storm and put him at the cowboys or the sharks, etc and he'd be nowhere near talked up as much.
His status as a player is greatly enhanced by the illegal superstars around him, take those stars away and he'd come a long way back to the field.

If i was to pick a hooker for the Australian team then i would pick Smith over Farah because he compliments the likes of JT, Slater, Lockyer etc so well.

However if i was for example a Sharks or Eels fan, basically someone who supported a team lacking in dominant playmakers then id choose Farah over Smith in a heartbeat.
