Isaac Gordon should be given a life ban immediatley.

Gordon, 25, pleaded guilty to common assault today at Sutherland Local Court after he negotiated a plea deal with police prosecutors.
He allegedly began verbally abusing her, saying: "Hit me, hit me. I'll hit you back. It's self-defence. I'll kill you f...ing, f...ing, f...ing bitch," the court documents state.

Ms Davison pushed Gordon's face away and he grabbed her by the chin and pushed her head against the wall.

She grabbed his car keys and the pair wrestled, with Ms Davison landing on a mattress on the floor.

"The accused bit the victim on her right hand," the court documents state.

Gordon then collected the keys and his wallet and drove away.

Can someone explain to me why after now being convicted for this crime, he a) still has a place at the Sharks and b) hasn't been deregistered and given a lifetime ban by the NRL?

We say we want to attract more female fans, and yet someone CONVICTED of assaulting a woman, and a heavily pregnant woman at that, is allowed to play?

Slipped under the radar this one. Tevita Latu was de-registered but Junior Vaivai was still allowed to run around for Penrith last year after pleading guilty to assaulting his girlfriend. So it's not like this is a first.

Depends what he's doing about it.

If he's genuinely seeking professional help then I think it comes under duty of care and that the Sharks should stick beside him. A years suspension from the game and a review at the end of that year would be the best way to go in my opinion.

We don't know enough details though to openly criticise the Sharks or NRL though.

Isaac pleaded guilty to doing something stupid. He knows it was wrong, the club know it was wrong, everyone knows it was wrong.

The Sharks will stand by him, as they probably should.

From the story at: http://www.news.com.au/breaking-new...-kill-girlfriend/story-e6frfku0-1226253478513

The Sharks' general manager Darren Mooney provided a character reference for Gordon.

"Isaac has had quite a few personal issues to deal with of late, and he is now seeing a counsellor on a weekly basis," Mr Mooney wrote.

"He is a pleasure to have around and never causes any trouble at all."

Agreed his been punished by the law and we don't know all the details so no one on here can critisize my team.

iirc, Tevita Latu is the only player to get de-registered for a similar crime. And tbh the circumstances were pretty different - it wasnt a push and shove with the missus after a blow up (not excusing this), he broke some woman's nose at a pub.

What 'other details' could make this vile act suddenly ok? Did she have a loaded Derringer pistol in a garter belt or something? He assaulted (and bit ffs) a pregnant woman. Disgusting and intolerable

After seeing the NRL accept the Shaun Metcalf registration, nothing surprises me anymore. Robert Lui's case or this one are peanuts compared to it really...

FFS, we have the police, the justice department for a reason.

It has been dealt with by the law, the NRL is not the f**king law.

Absolutely low low act. He's a dog of the highest order. The NRL needs to get serious about dealing with this sort of thing though, and starting with this case when so many others have been ignored would be somewhat hypocritical.

Before anyone asks I didn't approve of my team signing Vai Vai either.
