:? He wasn't implying that, he said that grubs shouldn't be complaining about 'grubby' tactics.
So the chicken wing tackle and others weren't dirty before they were outlawed?
I had a great chuckle at T-Rex's rant in the paper - not even sure what he's going on about tbh. JWH plays hard but I wouldn't call him a grub.Kangaroos strike forward Tony "T-Rex" Williams has vowed to repay the Kiwis for their "dirty" tactics in yesterday's fiery encounter at Halliwell Jones Stadium if the two teams meet in the Four Nations final.
While most of the chorus of Aussie complaints after the game centred on Issac Luke's "cannonball" tackle on David Shillington and late shots on kickers, Williams was unhappy with the Kiwis for other tactics.
The Kangaroos suffered a high injury toll with Shillington (ankle), Willie Tonga (hip) and Anthony Watmough (elbow) all in doubt for next weekend's clash with England at Wembley, while Cooper Cronk has a broken nose.
Williams scored a try with his first touch of the ball but he was still unhappy after the win because of what he saw as dirty play.
"Play hard but don't play dirty," Williams said. "Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and all of those guys ... that was something I don't like and I will back up my boys any time.
"I don't think it was suitable and we will just have to give it back to them. Hopefully we will have a chance to verse them, I would love to verse them again."
The loss leaves the Kiwis needing to beat both Wales and England in the next two weeks if they are to have any chance of retaining the Four Nations title they won last year.
Australian coach Tim Sheens claimed it wasn't until prop Matt Scott came to the aid of Cowboys team-mate Johnathan Thurston after a late shot by Jeremy Smith that English referee Phil Bentham took action.
"I don't know what sort of instructions he was working under but I thought it was close to exploding ...
"If things don't happen officially they will happen unofficially as players tend to work those things out."
Meanwhile, The Kiwis are refusing to pat themselves on the back for a much-improved performance against Australia in yesterday's Four Nations opener at Warrington.

I thought trying to destroy the legs was a Cam Smith special. If the roles were reversed and Cam Smith had taken Matalinos legs out that way, plenty of Kiwis would be screaming bloody murder
It is a totally legal play, no doubt, but that doesnt make it less dangerous and unnecessary.
guess you've never watched jwh play then :sarcasm:

He's just evolving his game, like all the great players.Huh? Everyone knows that the neck is Cams specialist area
+1 million!I dunno how old some of the posters here are, but what a laugh, hearing people talk about "dirty" tactics in test football.
Test footy years ago was full of cheap shots, elbows, head highs and fist punches.
RL is cleaner by a country mile to what it was. Compare Adam Blair and Stewarts fight to the Manly/Newtown brawl of I think 81. Led by Tommy R. There was no comparison. We have come a long way.
George Rose's elbow in the GF was far worse than Luke's tackle. It had one intention. To hurt or maim. No other reason. Would have been a penalty or send off even in the 80's! He should have gone.
Luke's was more or less a legit tackle. There is a margin of error, but he was clearly making an aggressive, around the legs tackle. The point being to put a big bloke down. If Shillington is fighting in the tackle and not surrendering, he can be tackled. Ref got it right.
idiot...Outlaw tackling round the legs!
