lol @ T-Rex mouthing off. the biggest cat in the game who stands in the centres and runs at the smallest guy trying to talk tough. Didn't see him do anything about it on the field. JWH would of knocked him out
 agreed. He's like a black version of "Big" Dave Taylor. Those two should start a club.

The fact that Asotasi, Luke's teammate said they should outlaw the tackle should put an end to all the NZer's trying to defend him.

Its not a question of whether it currently legal or not, we all know that it is.

Should it be legal is a different story though

No i didn't think it was illigal under international rules. I keep coming back to my point that the only fair way of dealing with this tackle is for the ref to call tackled earlier or for the tackled player to stop fighting the tackle or looking for an offload. Players aint going to stop fighting in the tackle or looking for an offload so it has to come down to the refs to call tackle earlier. For mine if your standing in tackle and fighting it then another tackler has to come in to finish it other wise he isn't doing whats right for his team......so back we come to the refs.
Question: If IRLF have cautioned Luke for his tackle on Shillington....what section of their laws did they use?

Does a legs tackle constitute contrary conduct? The IRLF shit me. They pull this bullshit on the likes of NZ and other lesser countries while turning a blind eye for decades to Australian and English clubs pulling NZ players out of internationals for bogus reasons......which if memory serves is in section 3.1 or 3.3 of the international rules about players being made available for international duty for their countries.
Christ contrary conduct sounds like it could be anything.

I agree dude.

Pretty much the IRLF have said:
"uh-oh, it was a (debatably highly dangerous, depending on some very tiny details of each individual scenario) tackle which the NRL have (very erratically and inconsistently) clamped down on, and now the Australians are blowing up big time over it... but there's nothing in our rules to stop that nasty Isaac Luke from doing it again... I know, we'll threaten contrary conduct."

So if Cameron Smith goes out and does the exact same tackle (while displaying an aggressive face as apparently that is what makes the conduct contrary) versus England, will he get charged with contrary conduct? Or is the precedent now that he will be allowed to do it twice, then be warned, then charged if he does it again?

Does every player get 2 free shots at the knees?

Is it illegal if it's aimed from the front, or only from the back or side?

What if you hit the players buttocks first...?

Is it only illegal if you use the shoulder, not the arms?

If you flail your arms near the legs, does that mean you can shoulder charge them?

What level of force is required to deem it dangerous?

TBH, it's a friggin quagmire. They should just forget the whole thing.

If we all know it is legal, why are some carrying on like he has gotten away with murder?
I'm not saying he should be charged, I'm just highlighting the dirty practice from Luke to repeat the same dangerous tackle he was just slammed for weeks before.

idiot...

If you can't distinguish between a textbook rugby league tackle around the legs and a straight up cheapshot, then something is seriously wrong...
Get real pal!Lukes technique is text book around the legs apart from the fact there a couple of guys up top that cant finish the attacking player or a referee hesitant on calling held, therein lies the problem. Luke is just trying to complete the tackle and stop the offload.dont blame him if anything blame the ref or the allowing of wrestling. So calling me an idiot for calling Lukes tackle around the legs makes you the idiot!

FFS, Shillington was already falling to the ground and going nowhere, it is clear as day to see what Luke's intent was.
