How mant times last night was Moses so far from the play the ball that it took an eternity for Mahoneys pass to reach him. Every time the defence was on him before he could move yet we did it over and over again. Unbelievable .

That is our problem. We keep players and coaches because they are “good people with blue and gold in their veins”.

That is the ONLY reason BA is still coach.

Seriously when was the last time we tapped a club stalwart on the shoulder? Cayless, Hindy, mannah all played on way too long.
Burt, B Smith, Wagon, De Gois the list is endless.

We are far too nice, nice guys finish last. No one is willing to make tough decisions at he club. But hey are least we tried this year and learnt some tough lessons blah blah blah.

What is it 15 spoons in 71 seasons??? What a mediocre joke of a club we are.

Looking at the amount of players who are all off contract in 2019, the rebuilding process will be quite easy. Meaning that there will be no Ricky whiteboard moment to move on a dozen who are still contracted.

Yeah I agree. It should be easy, but will the coach just resign players he's too close to that will take us nowhere?

Overhauling the roster over 12 months might just mean that we will be competitive for a season, but not a contender.

With all due respect. Without Mannah last night the score would have been far greater. I thought he was one who played well last night. Yes we need better around him and better attitudes but he cant be blamed for our season from hell.

True - but again we get excited about a player making a few decent hit ups. The game is way past that. Where is the tackle bust, the offload, the step?

Mannah would have been a champion player in the 80’s. You can’t carry players like that anymore.

By the way - we are the most boring team to watch in the comp. Just straight out boring.

Are you proposing that we subsidise the salaries of French, Menningds, Norman, Taka and Timmy to play elsewhere next year or just not re-sign them ?
Well the other night you were happy to offload Jennings and Norman.

Some I think we have to. Why waste another year with them if there is virtually no chance of them being signed beyond 2019.

I know that we had a shit season and the Coach is under the pump, but TBH I don’t see him as a guy who is scared of dropping players or tapping them on the shoulder when their time is up.

He re-signed a bunch until 2019, but when that happened we were either competing well late 2016 or coming top 4 2019. Easy to be wise in hindsight unless ypu know Doris Stokes.

I built a case for moving Norman on in the rumur thread and many pointed out correctly that the process was difficult and possibly causes more damage to the cap than you might think.

Well we will soon see I guess. As I said in the original post, these players will eventually get.him sacked if they all remain.

It’s for one year not several. He has been a major reason for our lack of discipline. The influence he has over the Squad is obvious. Even our best forward has been seen with him on the drink. He is a cancer and needs to be offloaded.

Moses seems to be similar. I can’t see him being here in 2020.

I’d play Dylan Brown some time in 2019 and invest in him. I’d try and take Chad Townsend from the Sharks if we couldn’t get Maloney.

I'd be telling players signed for next season now that we don't want you beyond next year and if you can find someone who will take you for 2019 then we're open to negotiations.

I think it's going to take 15 months to overhaul the roster. We might just have to settle for being competitive instead of conteners in 2019.

Ummm isnt that already happening ..... norman, french, jennings

even moses has been mentioned as moving on so i assume its his manager not getting an extension and trying to drum up some action

Those players have shown some amazing form in the past. We need to understand why good players have gone bad. If this puzzle isnt solved we are just providing opportunity for new players to repeat the cycle.
Why was Norman favourite for Dally M Player of the year?
Why was Jennings considered the best defensive center in the game?
Why did Fittler want Moses in SOO?
Why did French score so many trys previously?
Root cause analysis. Find the real problem and rectify it no matter what it is.

Id maybe move on Taka and Hoff.
Id be wary of moving to many guys due to signing and re signing guys. Kind of looks bad.

You'd hope we're in the midst of a roster overhaul. Time will tell.

Unfortunately considering what we know today in terms of signings and the fact that it seems Arthur will be coach next year, I can’t see our club being anything but bottom four material again next year.

The most worrying thing this year was even in the games when our forward aimed up, made meters and defended astutely, we looked completely lost in the opositions 20.

It’s reasonable to reach the conclusion that we need bigger bodies and the old adage that forwards win matches is more or less true, but while in some games our forwards got rolled, in a lot of other games we couldnt score a try to save our lives.

Whether BA can coach or not, the group of players we have are not responding to him on the field. That for me is the reason to move him on. And of course, our biggest issue remains lack of true Leadership on the field which has certainly not been addressed so far by recruitment, nor can I see any current player, other than perhaps Brown developing in that area. Norman seems from a distance to be detrimental to club culture and it seems (once again from afar) no one respects Moses enough for him to be a Leader
