Time for another debate on this. I was at the storm game an i have to say that the overwhelming response to my question of "what do you think of dan hunt" was the following:

(1) average
(2) too small
(3) Has Potential
(4) Not ready

Now before God zilla has a cry, this is what everyone said. There was a very very very select few peope that said anything positive. I know there are positive things that can be said, but honestly i do not want him playing in a GF. We have lost Paea to the dogs and i am absolutely livid about it. The kid can be good. He has done some decent things (a few good offloads), but he will never be a prop and i struggle to see his running back rower potential.
I simply do not think he us up to facing Grand final opposition. I hope i am proven wrong. But at this stage there is no way i would be picking him ahead of PAEA or SAFFY. Again it begs the question of which 17 you would field for the finals with all players on deck??

Debate. Cry. Agree....whatever you want. Just do something. And please, no stats.

BBC, you can’t be serious
He tackled the goal posts three time last week, is bending the line regularly and has much better stats than most our pack. His error rate is diminishing and he’s showing real attitude
He’s a keeper mate!

Tbh this thread says more about the people you hang around than Dan Hunt.

Whats wrong with Dan Hunt? He doesnt stand out for being one of the best in the team but then again he doesnt stand out for anything bad. IMO he is consistent and gets the job done. Not a show pony like Jason Ryles was in his time with the Dragons. Id have him in my grand final team any day of the week. If the greatest coach of the modern era believes hes good enough to have gotten a bench spot for the majority of the season than who are we to argue?

BTW id like to give a wrap to young guys like Jon Green and Jarrod Saffy as well who have really stepped up this year. :D

Hunt's workrate and defence is as good as any forward in the team. He isn't the most imposing player going around but I really don't think that's a problem. He's making ground, always seems to get in between defenders and has above average skill for a prop with his offloads and passing.

Just where on the ladder would we be if Bring Back Choc got the nod over Wayne Bennett!!!

Haha i love the no stats ploy... really makes this a pointless debate/question/cry/whinge take your pick...
Your almost as bad as Gould is with his agendas Choc...

Personally id have Hunt in my 17 any day of the week... yes ahead of Paea... He is a workhorse and is getting better week by week...

Im not sure what kind of a pack the Dean Young and Dan Hunt haters would have out there... apparently one that isn't leading us to a possible premiership.

Oh by the way choc have a geez at my signiture down below... thats just what Wayne Bennetts response would be to your little fan survey...

Careful your getting awfully close to bringing statistics into the equation...

Daniel Hunt has a promising future ahead of him , he is very positive in the way he carts the ball and his tackling technique shows he is going to turn into a big boy who will dent many inroads in defensive lines , his angled running and ability to pass are also solid within respects to a Prop/Backrower , so if he can continue to run hard , drive in tackles and play with a bit of balls , then we will see success from the young lad , in my opinion he is having a excellent season , will come more of a age after another off season under the weights

A+ this year for Hunt.

Dan Hunt could be Justin Poore's younger brother.

He's improving every game.

I do love Mickey "the wrecking ball" Paea. One tough hombre.

Hunt has improved tremendously in 09. He's not the most talented guy running around, but he's upped the quantity and (more importantly) the quality of his work this year.
Is he in the best possible 17? Not sure.
But W.B. seems to like having him there, so that'll do me.

Which Hunt was the witchunt about?. Some of of our so-called DHunt’s play has been plenty smart while some cutie from Brisbane who has been AFLicted with visions of grandeur had been denied his royalties for rep games

call me old fashion if you will, i just can't understand putting rubbish on our players, from our own supporters, we are leading the comp, we have the best defence, 2nd in attack, what more do people want, ask wayne bennett what he thinks of dan hunt and dean young.
