I can't recall there being many monumental failures at the back, with Tomkins being an exception with the addendum that he was at a club that is a basket case at the best of times.

We certainly got good mileage out of Brian Carney, and I reckon Joe Burgess will prove a good purchase for the Roosters too.

Plenty of forwards I'd be looking at though, and especially given our relative lack of level-headed workhorse types in the pack.

Uate can work on his short comings in PARK football or $50k a year, What else is he going to do, work as a plumber.

And who will pick up his contract genius?

We have to pay regardless, give a young kid a go. i would rather pay another $50k for a young kid to have a crack and send a message, that we don't care how much you are on, if you don't perform you are gone.

Or sell him off to the Esl.

That is exactly the message Brown has sent from day one. The chances of Uate and Mullen being here after their next contract expiry time are remote at the very best. ESL won't buy out a 29 year old winger who can't tackle.

If only we had the $500k just laying around to just throw at a bloke playing park footy.
