Most sex offenders will do these programs not to rehabilitate, but to do all that is required so they get parole even if they believe they are innocent, in the higher sentences it can be the difference of 3+ yrs served. I remember releasing a inmate after he was granted immediate release due the accuser changing her story of the actual facts & his words of having to sit with these sex offenders ( mostly pedophiles) in programs just so he got yrs off his sentence, even though he new he was innocent.
I agree with this.
Haynesy is well advised to “play the game”
He should do all the programs, be respectful of the guards, stay out of the politics and keep his head down.
The chances are that he remains committed to his innocence and therefore will put up a mental barrier or distance to his current environment.
A lot of prisoner folk consider themselves innocent. In very rare cases that might be true but he’s got very high powered lawyers to try to establish that. If they can’t swing it, he’s lost.
Let’s see what his appeal/s bring forth I guess.
But here and now, he’s a convicted sex offender.
Sex offenders who rape people are amongst the most hated and despised people in society. It’s one of those heinous and scumbag crimes.
Most of the guards I know have been belted at some stage. Big guys too. Gaol is not easy.
