Most sex offenders will do these programs not to rehabilitate, but to do all that is required so they get parole even if they believe they are innocent, in the higher sentences it can be the difference of 3+ yrs served. I remember releasing a inmate after he was granted immediate release due the accuser changing her story of the actual facts & his words of having to sit with these sex offenders ( mostly pedophiles) in programs just so he got yrs off his sentence, even though he new he was innocent.

I agree with this.

Haynesy is well advised to “play the game”

He should do all the programs, be respectful of the guards, stay out of the politics and keep his head down.

The chances are that he remains committed to his innocence and therefore will put up a mental barrier or distance to his current environment.

A lot of prisoner folk consider themselves innocent. In very rare cases that might be true but he’s got very high powered lawyers to try to establish that. If they can’t swing it, he’s lost.

Let’s see what his appeal/s bring forth I guess.

But here and now, he’s a convicted sex offender.

Sex offenders who rape people are amongst the most hated and despised people in society. It’s one of those heinous and scumbag crimes.

Most of the guards I know have been belted at some stage. Big guys too. Gaol is not easy.

Both times played shit, but we have a way of playing teams into form. Doueihi did look pretty good though due to our inadequacy at the back and poor defence.
Let's face it, Norman didn't challenge Douhei much last week.
Was left to dominate proceedings without a whimper from our 5/8.

Like I said before the only time Norman has won us a game was about his 2nd 3rd game for us kicking a field goal ..... Nothing since ..... over paid over rated over him ......

As am I, if I’m to take any emotion out of it I have to admit his long kicking game has improved and he is running the ball a lot (maybe too much) but he’s just ineffective and doesn’t pick the right moment to run it. Sometimes I think he likes getting tackled on the 5th so he doesn’t have to make a decision.

Some reports circulating that the jury have handed a note back to the court which could mean many things.

Sypposedly some announcement may be pending.

I wonder which charge the jury have agreed to? So if they deliberate further and get to the point where they cannot agree, would this constitute another hung jury?

I picked up in an online story that the judge said it’s charge 6. Normally charges are listed most serious to least serious. She has now issued her black direction which is try again , next time they come back locked up that’s it. If I was a betting man I’d say the one they have agreed on is a not guilty but who knows.

Count one alleges Mr de Belin inflicting bodily harm during the sexual assault, while count two alleges Mr Sinclair became part of a joint criminal enterprise when Mr de Belin began to assault her.

Counts three to five on the indictment relate to sexual intercourse without consent in company, relating to vaginal and oral sex committed by both men as they swapped positions with each other.

Count six also relates to sexual intercourse without consent in company but alleges Mr de Belin penetrated the woman’s anus without her consent.

This is the count that the jury has come to a unanimous verdict on.

Mr de Belin told the court during the trial the anal penetration was accidental and he apologised.

Well there you go. Nothing else matters.

serious question, if you're having sex which is consensual and you accidentally insert into the anus and the partner objects and you withdraw and within a matter of seconds and you apologies, does that constitute rape??

At least the judge is attempting to get a verdict - hopefully the correct one , not a verdict due to pressure of any sort being placed upon the jurors themselves to do so .

Although not a direct answer to your question
If they can't reach a unanimous decision on the other 5 charges the jury can be discharged in my understanding without the 6th charge being upheld either way

IMO it would appear that JDB's own evidence may be the very reason why a unanimous decision could be reached on Charge 6.
