You are correct Slippery in fact Parole he would be highly unlikely to get parole without doing the sex offender program (SOP).
The SOP also involves taking some responsibility for the offence, showing remorse and victim empathy so let’s see how that goes - not a great start. Judges comments about ‘deniers’ and the outrageous acts outside by his supporters won’t be lost when decision makers consider his parole. Many sex offenders do the SOP without showing much of anything and simply tick a box for parole but he is high profile and will attract far greater scrutiny by all including Corrective Services staff delivering the program, State Parole Board and the media.
If he thinks all he has to do is chill and ‘do the time’ he’s in for a surprise. Programs and/or work is compulsory for sentenced inmates.
He hasn’t shown any remorse at all suggesting he believes he is either completely innocent or is seriously delusional.
He’s filed his notice of intention to appeal and will see how that goes. If he loses that, maybe he can appeal again.
I think the nrl are waiting for these outcomes until they determine whether or not to strip him of his awards.
If his appeal/s fail, he will erased from the games memory so far as possible.
I think the police should arrest all his idiot friends or supporters who intimidated and tried to assault that girl and others at the court. Regardless of the appeal.
The jdb jury are struggling to convict. Tough job, I wouldn’t want it, I got a view, but best not share it.
