The NRL cant do anything until the 28th of the month.
That's the date set by the judge for the DPP to decide if they intend to pursue a 3rd trial.
I doubt they will.

So after all this is he eligible to play or do they need to wait to see if the DDP will find new evidence by 28 May ?
I hope Diamond Dallas Page doesn't take too long to work that out...I'll give myself a thumbs down for that one
:p

It has always been clear to me that it would be hard to arrive at a guilty verdict based on the evidence presented. The police never should have laid the charges given the evidence and should never have lied in an effort to strengthen their case against De Belin.

The DPP should immediately drop the case and let De Belin get on with his life and on with his football career. I truly hope that De Belin takes action against the NRL and in doing so gets their stand down no fault rule toosd out.

Has to see what happens on the 28th of May when they see what they can do.
Not really, the DPP has to make a decision BY 28 May not on 28 May. Given their failure over the past 3 years, lies and lack of empathy for the accused, I believe they should drop the case now. It goes without saying that NONE of the charges against De Belin have been proved under our legal system.

Dragons statement: Jack de Belin

The Jack de Belin court matter did not reach a verdict on five of the six charges as a result of a hung jury in Sydney District Court on Monday.

De Belin was however found not guilty of a sixth charge.

De Belin remains subject to the NRL's no-fault stand down policy.

The next steps concerning all facets of matter are yet to be established.

The Dragons will continue to provide the necessary welfare support to de Belin and his family.

As this remains a legal matter, the club will make no further comment at this time.

Unfortunately they will take until the 28th to reach that decision. They want to be seen as take all paths possible.

With not new evidence at hand it would be very strange to try a 3rd trail.
