Well lets say he got the 220k Peach was offered.? Lets say he turns out to be a gun. AT this stage he is 4 Games behind Peach on potential.

Reefy respect to your knowledge. Doubt anyone ever heard of the kid but you. You saw a lot of Manly 20s I guess. I had a double take when I saw the thread title . Thought it was Josh Dugan. Manly run last and Reef spots a gun. Would you believe it. Manly 20s only memorable for their crapness. How you remember this kid amazes me. I remember Brenko Lee wonder why? I saw us play Penrith and even that talked up Panthers kid did squat.

Funny how he is 4 games behind Peach, you never rated Peach and happy to see him go. I would have liked to get the likes of Gagan and Simona and keep Peach. Could have done without Grothe and Holdsworth.

He hardly played 20's. Was Manly's leading try scorer in NSW cup

Someone who can score tries....he'll be a misfit in our team ;-)

That's the kind of player we need...players that can find the line. Some players seem to have a happy knack of scoring, some don't. e.g. Todd Carney - as good a player as he is, he doesn't score many tries.

I have not heard of him before. He obviously has potential as he has been courted by 3 clubs now & is only 20. Manly mate of mine says he was one of the fastest at Manly. A mutual mates son played at Manly last year.
Peach has played 4 games of first grade & has similar descriptions written about him.
Therefore, he is 4 games behind Peach on realising that potential.

Do local kids actually play rugby league in the shire or are they all beach bums?.... you will never win a competition buying players from other clubs and if by some freak of nature you did it will be hollow.
You would be known as cheque book champions.

We wont will we, lets see who won in 2013 Roosters, and what do they do buy players from elsewhere, lets check the Panthers with the biggest junior comp in the world and how many imports in the 2014 squad

Sam Amderson
Lewis Brown
Luke Capewell
Anthony Cherrington
Ethan Cook
Tom Humble
Isaac John
Kevin Kingston
Brent Kite
Jeremy Latimore
Leilani Latu
Sika Manu
Sam McKendry
Kevin Naiqama
Wes Naiqama
Kyle O'Donnell
Tyrone Peachey
Nigel Plum
David Simmons
Ryan Simpkins
Will Smith
Jamie Soward
Shaun Spence
Elijah Taylor
Brad Tighe
Dean Whare

Not a bad effort 26 players you have purchased from other clubs, and that for the biggest junior comp in the world, and you have a go at the sharks

Geez I didn't know they signed this guy! He is another guy with a heap of potential but I find it odd Bennett never really gave him a chance.

It seems old gussy boy is just signing the "best of the rest" sort of players from all clubs. Not a bad strategy to use I suppose

As for us being chequebook winners only. Do either of the last 2 premiers have a single local junior starting?

Jacob Gagan, plenty of promise but struggled since Matts injury in 2009, good in 2010 when oustside of fellow Australian schoolboy centre Trent Jennings, now at Westigers who put him into plenty of space. Parramatta failed to manage a hamstring injury correctly which only saw him play limited 20s games. Manly thought he could show some form with them , but saw him play a few games in VB cup and was not overly impressed. Hope he can find some form.

Sounds like he has been overtrained and poorly managed physically since a young age.

Could he be another Stewy Mills.

Thanks ITK

I knew but was too depressed to talk about it. A few times in here I lauded Smith and wished the Sharks would woo him.

He is David Peacheyesque. Floats around the field like Peach used to. Sleight of hand.

Good luck to him.
