I don't totally believe in the good enough old enough thing. He has to be physically ready otherwise he could be looking at a shoulder-reconstruction-athon.

I don't understand why people want to throw the young kids straight into first grade. You don't skip years 3 & 4 of your apprenticeship just because you were good in years 1 & 2.

Managers, families, the media, fans and the players need to start recognising that it takes time to build into being a first grade player.

Well, he didn't score 5 tries against trial players tonight so he must be bog average.

Rushing them in means your also paying them overs before they are consistent.
Unless they are special I would hold them off untill 20yrs old.

Hundreds of solid first graders have won premierships. If he even reaches that level it'll be useful.
