We have some good young juniors coming through however, the outgoing Frizell and Graham need to be replaced by genuine first forwards. I sugest we make the following changes in our forward pack for 2021:

Forwards
Frizell replace with D Fifita from Broncos
Graham replace with A Fifita from Sharks
K Sims replace with Blacker from Dragons
De Belin - maybe replace with McInnes from Dragons
Hunt to be fulltime hooker
Bring back Timm

Backs
Dufty and Ramsey to contest fullback
Pereira and Ramsey to contest left wing
Lafai replaced by Williame
Aitken replace by Lomax
Ravalawa replaced by Saab
Norman and Sullivan to contest five-eighth
Clune at halfback

Aitken. Lafai and Ravalawa gone giving SGI sufficient salary cap to recruit a marquee fullback if required.

So for now, the top 17 for season 2021 should look like this:

1. Dufty
2. Ramsey
3. Lomax
4. Williame
5. Saab
6. Sullivan
7. Clune
8. A Fifita
9. Hunt
10. Vaughan
11. T Sims
12. D Fifita
13. McInnes

14. Kerr
15. Lawrie
16. Ford
17. Fuimaono
Possm, I really love your enthusiasm and effort, that can’t be questioned. Ravalawa just signed a 3 year extension over the last 48hours so I think that boat has sailed.
Andrew Fifita from Cronulla: way out of shape, can barely move as his knee is shot to pieces and generally is an all round $hit cun*.
David Fifita: unless we’re paying north of 1.2 or 1.3 mil a season he isn’t stepping anywhere near our poorly run club.
Knowing our Jerk offs They will probably spend the “war chest” on Aiden Tolman and upgrade Aitken to a multi million $$ deal

Forgive me Possum but are you raving when mentioning we get A Fifita from Sharks. He is busted unfit on one leg he is like Graham pasted it for this new game. And Rava has been resigned for 3 years.

He is much younger that Graham and because he is coming back from injury, would be a much better prospect after an off-season training/fitness campaign. With Andrew Fifita on board we could have a prop rotatation of:
Vaughan
A Fifita
Kerr
Merrin
Lawrie
Blacker

Plenty of experience and youth to be competitive under a new coach. This is the depth in the forwards that we need to get through a season. Merrin and Lawrie can also play backrow if required.

Think he has a serious knee problem. If you notice I think his bad leg is withered unless he just has skinny leg syndrome which is suspect he has cause a commentor said the same.

There is a David Fifita his brother playing for Wakefield in SL. Now 31 years plays same as Andrew.

We have Josh Kerr he will only get better. Blacker should be given a run so he can bloom he is large. Look at young Collins at Chooks but different club different coach.
The notion we need to replace Graham before he leaves on some like for like basis is ridiculous.

Anyone of any consequence is already committed and only the poor imitations would be available.

Time for Ford & Blacker to get their chance and Kerr to earn an upgrade and surely we must be identifying some young prop either from within or at another club?

The journeymen and my best is well behind me style players we have been attracted to has put us well behind the 8 ball and hindered our ability to progress players with youth & potential.

the replacement player for Graham also revolves around what position they see graham playing -- is it lock . is it prop or a mixture ?? surely Ford could get given a go at lock Merrin could rotate into prop during the game and then Korbin Simms as prop .. Host on interchange also
If everything revolves around JDB on monday then JDB replaces graham and we promote from within for grahams spot
thing that worries me with replacements is will the newbie be gauranteed a top 17 OR will it be on form so he will be against Ford host etc If newbie is always in top 17 then sends a sign to the rest of the players that they are "surplus" to coaches need ,, And a loan player is going to be outside the other teams top 17 so just how good would he be ?? - unless your looking at a young up and comer that could be signed for a few years

Graham needs to get his bags packed and hop on the first plane home. Can replace him with an Under 14s prop from Penshurst RSL. The notion we need a ‘replacement’ for him is just ridiculous as other than attitude, Graham hasn’t been a first grader for two seasons. Anyone who is willing to take him, and pay his salary should be thanked and then run before they change their minds

Perhaps I am hoping for a bit much , however it would better if the new 4 man selection committee have a say as to whom is the BEST replacement . I am sure that Flanagan will not consider any journeymen , but only true quality .
I'm thinking about Matt Prior. He has been around for a while and is lined up to play in the Super League.

He helped us win the 2010 grand final and also for the Sharks under Flanagan, who I think might also be thinking of him if they can get him back from the UK or has he not gone yet because of Covid 19?

Sorry Mickey
I am not a fan off Evans. I have seen him go missing when it gets hard, also he has pin legs for a middle forward. Essee Essee is starti g to improve and the one i would chase.

Wantaway Graham will play against Titans
  • National Sport News
    r0_0_800_600_w1200_h678_fmax.jpg

James Graham will play for the Dragons against the Titans on Saturday despite asking for a release.
St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor is confident James Graham will give an "all-in" performance for the Dragons in Saturday's NRL match against Gold Coast.

The Dragons confirmed on Thursday they had been approached by Graham about returning to the English Super League this year to join St Helens.

Despite the 34-year-old's eagerness to leave the NRL, McGregor says he has no fears about the Englishman's commitment to the Red V.

"He's all in. Conversation I had with James is pretty simple that he wants to finish his career where he started back at St. Helens and he's got the remainder of the year to do that," McGregor said.

"James has requested the release and the rest has already been said ... certainly I know what James will give us on the football field and that'll be an all-in performance."

McGregor doesn't know if Saturday's game will be the final appearance for Graham in a Dragons jersey, with Canterbury's move to sign Luke Thompson opening a door for him to return to the English Super League club he played 224 games for before moving to the NRL.

The Dragons coach is also uncertain about who will replace Graham, with his departure as well as the pending exit of Tyson Frizell meaning the club will have close to $1 million available to shake up their forward pack next season.

McGregor said he was yet to speak to Jack de Belin about his own future with his $600,000 deal set to expire at season's end.

De Belin's case is back in court on Monday for legal argument after the stood-down star pleaded not guilty to five counts of aggravated sexual assault.

McGregor says his focus has been on supporting the 29-year-old during his court case with his playing future not an immediate priority.

Despite having not played since the end of 2018, McGregor says de Belin will be ready to go as soon as he's cleared to return to NRL action.

"The excitement is Jack gets an opportunity to defend himself in court and he hasn't had that," McGregor said.

"He's one of our fittest players in the club.

"He was a standout player in his position before he got stood down and he trains as good as anyone else in the squad, so he's ready to go."
