Valheru, you could also add in that Roberts' incident happened in a public venue. Pearce's didn't.

Visiting schools, hospitals, disadvantaged people and stuff is usually the go isn't it?anyone know what community service usually gets handed out? Somewhere knee deep in crap that smells like hells rimhole and is stinking hot would be nice
i'd assume so, considering players do a lot of that already it isn't much a punishmentVisiting schools, hospitals, disadvantaged people and stuff is usually the go isn't it?
Agreed, but a statement reading 'Player X will be doing X amount of community work of as part of his rehabilitation' sounds a lot better than 'he will be doing the usual stuff'i'd assume so, considering players do a lot of that already it isn't much a punishment
I think we all agree that Pearce was hard done by. Perhaps the NRL sensed the outrage of the punishment and realised it was too heavy handed. Media coverage was certainly the thing that landed Pearce in so much hot water. Everyone in the country saw it on the news.
If the NRL just came out and said this and admitted it was a trial by media, we would all just move on.
Isn't he an Elite Athlete, why was he drinking?
He should be shafted from the Broncos and not picked up by anyone.
Clubs need more backbone.
It's a "different set of circumstances" to the Pearce situation guys.
