Man, he has been poor over the last month. Im not sure about the health and form of Savage but if he is going well in NSW Cup, the obvious call has to be made (Savage to 1, Kris to centre). I seriously doubt Sticky will make that call this year.

Did his hamstring in NSW cup a few weeks ago, Savage is out for 4-6 weeks
Was going very well before that and should have been in FG playing fullback with Kris getting back to centre where he belongs.

His pressure cooker miss brought back some good memories for tigers fans

Haha. Those memories of your team also choking in the finals? Should have beat the Dragons the following week. We look fondly back to when the Tigers were 'almost' relevant.

Mate, with all due respect this is Ricky effing Stuart we are talking about.

Not only has he stubbornly played Kris over Savage at FB all year just so no one could prove him wrong, despite Kris (for all his brave efforts) being a bottom 4 FB in almost every attacking metric AND the worst defensive FB for try causes...

Not only that RIcky doubled down and banished Xav to the wing in reggies before he did his hammy, refusing to play him at FB . This is Ricky Stuart, his petulance knows no bounds.

A bit of a bump in the road last night for byc. Something to work on though, come out and have a good first few rounds next year to show he's rebounded well and Freddie will be on the blower.

Whoa, settle down buddy. Next year? Young Toots will bounce back in the next few weeks and surely there is a test match at the end of the year?

Announced on the Fox Sports coverage, BYC hanging up the boots at seasons end.

Thanks for the memories, mostly the ones revolving around posts on here.

The real question is if the moniker of BYC is forever retired or does it pass down from generation to generation of talented young centres?

the mantle lives on

the raiders are blessed with some terrific young prospects and some young studs already established. We’ll see who emerges to take the crown

my bet is on Matt Timoko

There can be only one. It wouldn't feel right passing on the crown.

Cutting the shenanigans for a post here but well done to the guy. Excellent career at club level, long stint at a high standard, no off field drama that I can recall and wasn’t the type to involve himself in rubbish on field.
Will be remembered for the missed kick v tigers, never reached any level of superstardom but should be looked at as an ideal role model for any YC as to even come close to replicating his career would be a solid achievement

genuinely one of the nicest blokes in the game
300 games is no joke. He might never have ever quite gotten to rep standard but you don’t play that many nrl games without being pretty good
As you say, never stepped a foot out of place off the field
And you go to a local Canberra junior RL field and you’ll find it littered with kids wearing his headgear

and the other thing I’ll say, one of his best game was the GF. Joey Manu was white hot that finals series and Croker played him to a draw
If our other centre did his job that night as well as Croker did we might have had a different result

Sad to see a player forced into retirement when he's still so young.
Best Young Centre becomes Best Young Ornament to the Game.

Congrats on a great career JC. You have to say he used every bit of potential he had.
