yeah, cause he was awesome there when we tried it before... :sarcasm:

He was never given a long term stint there and he was more suited to fullback at the time.

I'm not saying he should play 6 if he returns but I wouldn't just dismiss it because he didn't set the world on fire at a time that the whole team wasn't going that well.

I guess it is easier just to blame one player for losses though.......

Its not 2009 anymore either ... he's 7 years older and a completely different frame now I know he can work on his shape, but he is probably more suited to #6

Agree. His price tag will be possibly twice that of Normz. Is he twice the player tho ?

He might have been, sure, but how do we know he hasn't lost it now, and if he has, how long will it take him to get it back, if ever?

It's a lot of money for a lot of unanswered questions IMO

Yeah I lost my Hoppa boner after week 1 of his return. What a fizzer he was.

He'll be 29 and has had a remarkably injury free career. And he was one of the greatest to ever play the game. And there's no good reason to think he isn't still. He's no Hoppa.

I think Hayne was the greatest, but two years out of the game WILL affect his performance. If he came back we couldn't expect him to be the same player he was. Although I do hope he retains his speed by training with the Fijians.

Jarryd Hayne will sit down with his manager next week to begin discussing his post-Olympics future.

After an underwhelming rugby sevens debut for Fiji in London that followed his stunning NFL retirement, the former San Francisco 49er is rapidly trying to hone his skills in his new sport in a bid to making the final squad for Rio.

Fiji's next camp begins on June 14 where coach Ben Ryan will whittle down a 24-man squad to 12 for Brazil, where they hope to win their first-ever Olympic medal.

Ryan's team are considered the gold-medal favourites having been crowned world series champions for the last two years.

However a lot of attention is on where the former NRL star will turn to after the Olympics, with speculation rife he'll return to rugby league in the summer.
Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis was unwilling to reveal exactly how many codes and NRL clubs had reached out to his in-demand athlete, only saying he had been inundated with interest.

"We've had plenty," Beavis told AAP on Friday.

It is understood the Sydney Roosters are frontrunners for Hayne's signature, while Manly have reportedly joined the hunt to snap up the ex-NSW State of Origin and Kangaroos star.
Beavis also didn't rule out a move to cashed-up rugby clubs in Japan and France, however re-iterated that a decision is unlikely to be made until the Games are over in August.

Hayne predictably struggled in the tournament at Twickenham, coming off the bench in every game and playing 11 minutes in total.

Surely we would be the front runners for his signature at this point, given that the only club he has indicated at all about returning to is the Eels.
I'll let you in on a secret... his farewell media conference was about protecting his brand when he walked early - and about protecting the board/management's scalps for letting him walk.

"Eel for life" was just a convenient slogan, and after Hayne's 2015 contract expired we have no right to secure his return. (Though I'm still tracking correct in my prediction Hayne would end up at European/Japanese rugby after the NFL ;-)).

If he comes back he plays at 6. I just decided. Corey can go back to Qld especially if he is found guilty.
That didn't work too well last time Hayne tried it...

His body shape will be completely different given the training he has been doing in his 2 years away from the game. His skills and speed will be different, and he will have had no teamwork/combination training in his time away from league.

Huge risk imo, I would be disappointed if we paid overs (ie. over $800K) or committed to more than a 1-2 year contract.

I don't believe you were asked any direct questions. I thought you didn't care about him?

When you last questioned why I posted about Hayne I gave you the answer that applied in that instance.

What's your reason for questioning why I've posted an opinion on media-reported developments with Hayne this time?

For someone you claim to have zero interest in, you are sure there with a post about him the moment there is any news.

In those posts you are constantly telling us what he cares about and laying the boot in as hard as you can.

You don't have anything better to do? You are like those people on the imdb boards or movie forums that spend their entire lives bagging movies they claim to hate.

Imagine what you could achieve if you put your efforts to something more important?

Did I lose a bet saying that I would never post about Hayne or something?

Do you have a problem that I predicted Hayne would end up in rugby after NFL?

For someone who is accusing others of having nothing better to do, you seem to be spending a lot of time worrying or getting upset about what other people post... just saying ;-).

That's pretty much the standard come back for people like yourself. I read this forum cause i enjoy the insights from people and their opinions but when someone repeats themselves over and over, it is rather annoying.

I couldn't give a shit what you or anyone predicts about Hayne. I have no interest in Rugby so i won't be watching. I hope he does well. I was interested in his NFL journey as i follow the NFL.

I don't remember saying he wouldn't go to union so its not like i am saving face or something because i was wrong. It is irrelevant to me what he does from here.

To be honest i don't even care if he goes to the Roosters like all the media is suggesting, he stopped being an Eel in 2014 and i was supporting an Aussie in a game i follow. Now that he is in a code i don't care about, i don't really care.

If he comes back to Parra i will be very happy, if not, i wish him well whatever he does.
