FMD he played the last 180 seconds of the second half. The Poms were up like 20 nil at oranges.

Hence why i said his "Presence" him simply being there jinxed them,he didn't have to be on the field to jinx them, his jinxing powers are so great he can do it from the bench.

Gronk, can you confirm that ?

According to media reports I've heard today he played the last 4 minutes, the last 10 minutes & last reports were he came on in the last minute of the game.
So by your account it was more like last 3mins ?

He played a total of 10 mins across 3 games yesterday, 2 mins so far today.

Did he get on for any time in this match?

He made two good defensive plays. The first was when he found himself in a foot trace against a speedster in open space. He kept calm and maintained his shape and ankle tapped the bloke perfectly and caused a turnover.

He then turned the ball over in attack near his line. The opposition chipped but he turned and caught it and set the ball up.

I think Fiji scored from both those turnovers he got.

He was maybe on for 2-3 mins.

Looks sluggish and out of place at this stage but I think he'll improve.

Not sure how much time they'll give him though

Cheers. That is more specific than I'd expect in any press write up. Straight to the point. If he is going to make this olympic team then time on field is essential - either to justify his spot or definitively rule him out. I hope he makes it. Not enough info to know either way at this point.

Hayne didn't even get on the field against South Africa. Fiji have one game left, but based on his time so far I'd say his Olympic prospects aren't the brightest.

Yep, it's just a stunt to keep his "brand" in the media and cover that another NFL pre-season was too hard imo.

Hopefully we won't hear anymore of him trying to steal rugby league's thunder while we head into Origin season.

So after London, I'm thinking that Hayne is 50/50 to make the Olympics squad. From there I think that he'll only play the minnow countries and won't figure in the medal matches. Having said that he'll still get a G/S/B medal for being in the squad.

Haynes problem is that his aerobic fitness is poor (can be fixed), his knowledge of the game at breakdown does not exist (steep learning curve, but lucky for him Fiji don't place a great emphasis on the breakdown) but his biggest problem is that most of the squad possess the 2009 Hayne-like mad skills or even better. For that reason I reckon that he's only 50/50 to go to Rio.

He's got 6 weeks of training to impress the coach. That's when he'll find out of he's going to Rio.
