I'm wondering if the people who consistently take digs at "computer" music have any idea what goes into it?

Just push a button? Computer does it all for you?

The efforts it takes to make some of the sounds and background noises is not just pressing a button. It is hours to get it just right and tweaking to get it just how you hear it in your head.

Just because you don't happen to like a particular style of music doesn't mean you have to rubbish the person or people that make it and how they made it.

Good point. I happen to think Aphex Twin are amazing. All done with computers but still incredible.

Tommy is the best for mine. Does not hide behind distortion pedals. Nowhere to hide when he plays.

If he is so good then why the f**k did he let that little 8 yo Caveliri merkin show him up on stage?

Yep, Paul Van Dyk, Robert Miles, Skrillex. Those guys have written some of the best songs I have ever heard.

You certainly have generic electronic music that is basic but still gets people dancing but then you have the guys who just add layers to their music and it is unbelievable. The build ups and drops etc.

Zak Wylde is great guitarist but Ozzy never really found anyone better than Randy Rhoads.

Prince was a better a guitarist than a pop star has a right to be but isn't fit to shine the boots of the best of the best.

...and Animals as leaders, no thanks.

I'm not huge on Animals As Leaders, but Tosin has some solo stuff that is amazing imo.

And I agree about Wylde's work with Osbourne - but his work with Black Label Society and his solo work is great imo.

I disagree on Prince, personally. He was immensely talented.

But for mine, genuine flamenco guitarists are the cream of the crop (othet than Clapton. Clapton is GOD).

I agree.

I can't stand punk, but it paved the way for metal, which I love.

I have always believed the Yardbirds pioneered punk.

The Yardbirds? They were blues.

The term punk wasn't really used until the Ramones or the Saints came along. But if we are playing "pick the 60s band that pioneered a sound that would later be used by punk bands" then I think that mantle would go to The Sonics.
