I cannot see Hayne's ambition/ego allowing him to make a return to the NRL anytime soon. Don't get me wrong I'd have him back in a heartbeat however I would prefer we have another season without him and make an informed decision on him for 2017 (should he become available). If he decides to come back next year there will be immense pressure for the NRL and our board to have him back in our colours as he promised he would be an "eel for life". Assuming we want him and he opts to go somewhere else the Jamie Lyon snub will pale into insignificance and he will become the most hated player in Parra'a history,

I think that's unfair really. Both The Plane and Club have moved on. We're going to be paying Foran more than we ever paid The Plane. The likelihood of him playing for Parra again I would say is fairly remote.

I reckon if Hayne ever came back, his preference would always be the eels. As long as we offered something reasonable compared to other offers and club wasn't in an absolute basket case, we would return. He went to NFL so money isn't the deciding factor for him. He also seems pretty loyal.

I wouldn't hate him. The club screwed him with shot coaches, what does he owe us?

Agreed. I wouldn't hate him, either. Whatever team he goes to will just become my second-favourite team, that's all. And I'll watch all their games as well as ours.

Also, what manipulations were in the Lyon fiasco? If the rumours of what actually happened in round 1 (i think) of that year are correct then it was our coaching staff doing the manipulating.

I've always thought it was laughable that Parramatta fans have treated Jamie Lyon like a leper, but have not laid any blame at the feet of that little Hitler, Brian Smith. Lyon left, saying he could not play under Brian Smith. He was effectively pushed out of the club by Smith. Funny that he's had no problems whatsoever under successive coaches at Manly. been very loyal n fact - and a mighty good captain. A bloke of principle, I reckon.

Before we know it he'll be playing Rugby Union and going to the next World Cup.

That'd be great, too. I loved it when Matt Rogers set Union alight with his attacking play. He was more exciting to watch than Israel Falou. I reckon Hayne would be even better.

Na. Most likely in the end he will become a pro golfer.

And this is what he said:

"I'm leaving knowing that I have signed a 'lifetime agreement' with the Eels, so if I return to the NRL, it will be to Parramatta."

I don't care how emotional he was. That was part of his official statement so there would have been plenty of time to prepare it and make changes if necessary. I don't believe the lifetime deal exists but as I said it is a f**ken low act to say there is one if in fact there isn't.

shortly after he wrote that he and his manager denied ever saying it http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...ews-to-jarryd-hayne-camp-20141018-11873i.html

he never had any intention of returning to Parra

Whats worse, the whiteboard or the bus?
Indeed. Both equally bad personnel management strategies.

Was Seward in charge at the club when Hayne left us? If so for all we know, the "lifetime agreement" may be a multi-million dollar letter of intent for a contract from Seward, with all of the options - including future naming rights of the team - in Hayne's favour

Agree that Jamie Lyon got a raw deal from (some) Parra fans, and for some reason Hayne has a do-no-wrong technicolour dream coat....

Lyon made the correct choice- Won a few titles. He left cause he hate the coach right?
He was just as big a loss as Hayne.Great player-Great career.

If Moss fires like i expect we wont care too much about Hayne. WIll cost 1/15th and has the ability to be a star.

Foran is no anywhere near the same category as Hayne. TBH i reckon Norman will finish his career the better player. But Foran will lead is too Glory. Of the 1.2 mill hos much is 3rd party?
