Jarryd Hayne criticises pricks in pink for not giving Parramatta Eels a fair go

Growing up in an era when Parra had legends like Pricey, Sterlo, Mick Cronin, just to name a few, the Eels was my 2nd team.

Hayne has so much raw talent & could have been one of the best players ever to lace up a footy boot had he lived up to his full potential.
Haynes biggest hindrance is a piss-poor attitude. He's like a pampered poodle who has been coddled all his life simply because he was heads above all the others, talent wise, from a young age. He was no-doubt the high school footy star who could do no wrong (Nearly every school has one) where he was never held accountable for his actions. (Remember when he lost us a SOO game by gifting a try by giving them the ball, where his mummy hit the headlines defending him? Ugh)
That's the impression I get.

It's no secret that he's the laziest of trainers. One can only imagine how that affects the rest of the team, especially the younger blokes who look up to him.

Hayne claims to be a Christian yet gets on the piss, fornicates with any scrubber & hangs out with thugs. Yes I've been guilty of drinking to excess & might have been with a floozy or two in my youth but I never once claimed to be holier than thou.

After coming back to Aus with his tail between his legs (after 'chasing his dream' because he's a legend in his own mind) he showed how much he loved Parra by signing with another team (No really, he did the Eels a favour)
Were I a Parra fan there's no-way I'd want him back. Yes he is capable of being the difference between winning & losing but that depends on the mood he's in on the day.

I was intrigued to read what Parra fans had to say about Hayne & this was the first thread that I found.
So come on you Eels supporters, tell me what you really think of Hayne?
Jesus loves him.

Hayne is good at football

Yes, when he's in the right frame of mind & the planets are aligned & his mummy is there to tell him how wonderful he is.

All jokes aside, my point was that Hayne had the sheer raw talent to have been one of the best players of all time. As a fan of rugby league, it's frustrating that he has not lived up to that potential.

Can't you see that?

He's an acquired taste.

I think he has been pretty good for us this year - especially as he is not required to "be the man".

However, he still does stupid little things that irritate the shit out of you - for example, sitting on the ground for 90 seconds, putting your shoes back on, while your team has possession.

But that's Hayne; always has been, always will be.

To run a team with him in it, you just have to accept that he is a little lazy, but that his actions on the field will [usually] speak volumes.

"Acquired taste"? They say the same about decomposed herring, lol.

Hayne was one of those players that one hates when they're playing against your team but cheer on when in a blue or green & gold jumper.
But he goes missing in the middle of games, misses tackles, gets caught out of position, sulks when calls go against him.
Look at the size of him, his strength, his speed & his sheer raw talent. Imagine if he played like Semi Radradra, with the same effort & intensity.
We've all seen glimpses of his brilliance but never for long.

He's lazy because he's got a poor attitude. I think he's that way probably because everything came so easily to him. He never thought he had to train his arse off because he already had the skills.

Had he trained like a Wayne Pearce or a Des Hasler & given his full focus for 80 minutes, he would've been an absolute nightmare to oppose, both in defense & attack. Legend would be his name.

I don't disagree.

He's still a bloody good player, though.

People don’t like it when players act a different way than what is perceived normal. The media jumping on board for the same reason continually go on about it and then simple people run with it.

The guy has won 2 f**king Dally M medals, is about to even up on the try scoring tally list with one of the greatest ever Eels. He’s played 8 games of NFL football with absolutely no background in the game.

He is a kid from SW Sydney who has achieved more in his chosen field (and others) than most of us will ever achieve.

Is there a reason to always want to bring him down other than to stroke ones own ego?????

The only Christians who claim to be 'holier than thou' are the ones you see on TV and movies. Maybe some old ladies in old churches full of other old ladies. Real life modern Christians are of the we're-all-sinners variety. A lot of them try not to be sinners but plenty don't give a f**k.
