Come on Guys...Who here(with the exception of a few of us reds) wouldn't consider an attractive offer like this one.It is not only money but the opportunity to challenge yourself in something new.

It's not like he is considering playing with Satan:roll:
but I was certain that Kevin Sheedy bloke was ...

I have no issue with whether he stays or goes, my issue is with him jerking us around, we don't need it and it makes us look bad.

so you'd have no problem with him trying to deter people from playing and following League?
 Encouraging people to play Aussie Rules is not the same as deterring them playing league.

And it may surprise you to know that some people can multi -task and watch AFL AND league:shock:
My children grew up playing all the codes and watching all the codes to varying degrees. It's not about conversion to the faith. It is about marketing a product.

It seems some people here think it is.

It is te measure of a good product that you aren't too worried about competitors because you know that your product will shine through enough to stay around.

I get the feeling some people here don't have that sort of faith in the product.

Jarryd you are a liar. you are back and have not signed

Dude, you have quoted what Jarryd has said and yet you still bag him. How about you just back off a little and take him for his word. Calling him names like dog is very very weak mate. Seriously, he is signed to play for us next year and has said, as quoted by YOU that he will be signing and playing for us in the future.

Do you not think that the blokes deserves some time off? Lets look at it this way... He has this week/month off (holidays) and comes back next week/month and signs the new contract, you will have stressed and called him names for no reason.

I tell you what, if he signs for AFL (Not going to happen) i will lead the lynch mob with my pitch fork and a burning torch and will happily have you beside me.... How does that sound mate? Untill then, lets just back off a little okay?

he has not signed

he said he would when he returned. he hasn't and now won't even commit to the game

he is only a dog if he turns his back in the code and signs with boggerball simply to encourage people to take up the geniused game instead of League

Tug of war for Hayne begins

* By Josh Massoud

JARRYD Hayne's future may not be settled until the new year, despite the fact he has signed a letter of intent with the Eels.

Parramatta want to secure the NRL's hottest property for four years beyond 2010, but Hayne is likely to take time out after returning to Australia this week.

It's understood the AFL's new Greater Western Sydney franchise is willing to offer Hayne $1.5 million a year to switch.

Should talk bloom into a firm offer from GWS, a final decision could be months away.

Parramatta, however, are in the box seat to retain him.

The Daily Telegraph has learned that Hayne signed a letter of intent during the finals series, which typically precedes a formal contract.

if this is true i wonder if he or the AFL can be stopped from signing him similar to SBW?

if not then what is the point of a letter of intent :?

A letter of Intent is NOT legally binding in most cases. Seeing as Beavis is one of the best managers going around (from a money hungry player perspective... not ours) then I highly doubt this one is legally binding.

For example: In business involving HUGE loans, a bank will sign a Letter of Intent saying that they INTEND to give you the money, as long as nothing that can affect it comes up or is discovered during the writing of the contract.

So Hanye's would be something like "I agree to that money and will sign... UNLESS there are clauses in the final contract which I don't like."

In other words, if Hayne wanted to go to AFL, he could just get Beavis to get nit picky and say they don't agree with something in the contract... then he's free to sign with the AFL.

P.S I'm 99% confident Hayne will stay.

Honestly Hayne/Beavis and the AFL couldn't be this stupid.

If Hayne signed with the AFL he would go from one of the most popular and supported footballers in western Sydney to THE most hated footballer in Australia. Sure he may have more money BUT he would lose oh so much more.

And if the AFL pay $1.5m a year to a rugby league who has never played the game imagine how much money an AFL player who has played the game his whole life would command. There would be an outcry amongst AFL players if this happened.

Not only that but the AFL would stand NO chance of gaining any sort of foothold in western Sydney. They would have seriously pissed off a LOT of potential fans, the type of fans they are targeting with this move. I mean the only reason they would sign Hayne would be to entice rugby league followers into their fold BUT it would in fact do the exact opposite. I for one would hate the AFL more than I do now and I wouldn't be the only one.

I admit i dont rate hayne , but he does seem to like the spotlight on himself , and he does like to be the main man in the team who is the one to win it for the team. In AFL there wont be much spotlight on him as the game breaker or winner. And hayne will find it difficult to get the ball and do what he tries in league.

I think due to that hayne (ego) will stay, he will continue to have the spotlight on him in league .if he moved to the afl the spotlight wont be so bright he will just be another player in afl

I've come into this topic late and haven't searched all the threads, but can someone show me where or tell me who from AFL has actually mentioned they are chasing Hayne?
