I knew wed beat them cause they were missing their entire spine

1. Zillman
6. Sezar
7. Kelly
9. Srama

How many sides win games without their top players in those positions?

But still, Hayne had destroyed full strength sides as well

Yesterday I was looking at the market for the Clive Churchill Medal.
Hayne was the shortest priced Eel at 1000/1. Next was Sandow at 5000/1.
I thought there could be some good value if you are prepared to speculate on us going all the way.
A couple of hundred on Sandow to win a cool million could get interesting.

Eric Grothe rates Jarryd Hayne superior to his NRL 2009 breakout season

Very interesting quote:

The common denominator in both of Hayne's best seasons in the NRL is Daniel Anderson, the former Eels coach who rejoined the coaching staff as the club's football manager this season.

"I always liked Daniel as a coach," Hayne said.

"At the time the board didn't like him, so that was disappointing. I found him a really good coach. He's just straight up and honest. He's a bit old school, too, so he'll tell you how it is. Some blokes don't like that. Especially the generation these days, you've got to cuddle them and rock them into first grade and you can't be too harsh on them.
"For me, I thought he was great, although he doesn't have anything to do with the stuff on the field these days. With Brad Arthur, I think Brad is the most ideal coach for the club at the moment. He's a great coach. We couldn't have got anyone better."

2009 was his breakout season?
He was already a top player. Played for his state and country by then. Just went to another level.

There must be something that's surer.

Like the Dogs staying a scummy club.
Or the Sharks never winning a Premiership.

Spoke to that same Bulldogs mate who knows plenty about their club. They are resigned to the fact that Hayne will never leave and are offering Brett Stewart big money but he too wants to stay at his club.

Yep. Thanks again Roy Spags and 3P... four wasted years.

And never forget the best coach signing since Jack Gibson appointment. That propelled Spagnolo to oxygen thief master class.

Let's not start a shit fight again guys.

What a great article. Hayne shows so much maturity in his responses. Surely he is the greatest eel ever to play for this club.
