Hayne wouldn't get past pre season at the Dragons, don't they conduct the hardest pre seasons ever?

Neil Breen was won radio, this morning and said the issue was simply that JH was after a bigger contract than the last one, the club have offer the same and his manager has told him to wait and see if he can get an increase.Went on toe say , that the club said there's no justification for upping the contract, whilst he came good in the last 6 games ,the club still finished last.

No idea if that is the absolute truth, but how it was reported on Macquarie Sports Radio.

Everyone fell over themselves loving him saying he wanted to play for us for only 500k last season. Bullshit! He earned plenty ontop of that from the titans and he does not want to play for just 500k

maybe he is worth a little more, but id be f**ked if i would offer him more than 600k .... he seems injury hit since his return to league - he is not worth the risk

Offer him $400k. 1 year with a 2nd year option in our favour. Take it or leave it. Id also tell him he will be playing on the wing.

Offer him $400,000 with an additional $400,000 if he can win another Dally M.

Yep, an incentive-based contract would be ideal.
Base salary of around $500k, but bonuses if he plays a certain amount of games and hits certain kpi’s.

Of course he probably wouldn’t agree to it, but worth a try.

I said the other day 500k on a two year deal if it doesn't like it he can take his services elsewhere.

I don't mind offering him a bit more than last year, say 600-650(max). Whatever happens, it needs to be sorted out in the next few weeks....because the options to replace him will likely become fewer and f**keder as time goes on

f**k him off alltogether.
That would be the ultimate we have a backbone. But before do bag him like he has the club and see who wants to throw him 750k.

He has proven that he can still be an elite player, so an upgrade is not out of the question.
However, he has also proven that he is also injury-prone, so does that bring him back down again?

I would prefer to keep him. He is a great player and anyone we could possibly replace him with would be a downgrade in talent. I’m just hoping we don’t get screwed into paying big bucks for a player who may only play half a season. I know it’s the risk you take with all players, but he came back to the NRL two years ago and has only played in 32 games over that time. That’s a bit concerning.

Our club couldn't come up with this option (or similar) within 6 weeks after our season finished?
