I will question our cap management when i know if/how much we offered him and what he wants .... unless you know this then i think you are just blindly making shit up

And i am so sick of every f**ker bitching about how overpaid norman and moses are now - when evry f**ker was going on about how we signed em for reasonable amounts when we signed em .... ffs

Strides the deals were back-ended mate. Norman is on $940k this year. Moses about $750K. That's why we are in the shit and why we can't offload them. I also hear Jennings is on $800K.

We proved to have the worst roster this season. This will mean an even worst roster next year.

Happy Days at this club. What a f**king joke.

There are 8-10 players I would happily piss off to accommodate Jarryd. You guys are all nuts being glad he is going. He was THE only shining light in a shitful season.

3 poorly performing players on massively backended deals, nah it's all Haynes fault. And don't you dare question the coach, we have had a review and BA is aces.
Why would you think they're back-ended? We have the same f**ken side next year as in 2017. The only differences are these:

Out:
Auva'a
Edwards
King
Matagi
Fritchard
Radradra
Scott
Vave

In:
Evans
Ferguson
Kaufusi
Lane
Mahoney
Paulo
Salmon
Stone

In two years the team is hardly any weaker. Where the f**k do you keep getting this idea of a f**ked salary cap from? Because they underperformed this year? That's got nothing to do with back-ended contracts you f**ken twit.

If we had the worst roster why were we among the premiership favourites at the start of the year?

It's almost the same side that won 16 games last year ffs. Half our team underperformed. It might be all the coach's fault but there is nothing wrong with the talent in our squad.

I’d love to have Jarryd back but I think the problem is he can earn more elsewhere than we are willing to pay him. He clearly has us as his 1st choice and is trying to boost (I hope, the alternative is he’s really vindictive)

I think that's it. It would be nice to hang our recent failures on him but I doubt it's that simple. And we do love a scapegoat.

The other side of it though is I don’t think he is worth to us what he wants I.e what he could reasonably get elsewhere. That said, if it’s causing this much of an issue, then I also think he is worth more than we are offering. Which opens the question why would we lowball?

Yeah, two good points. Like his Titans contract, it's a bit weird. Saying he will make a decision after the season just seems like asking for trouble. Then again, was he told he had to put performances on the board? Or that the salary cap was mostly spent? All I know is that knowing he was in the team gave me some hope. Out of the f**k all highlights this year he was probably in half of them.

Nah the squads fine, tip top. The rest of the comp should be shaking in their boots.

Jennings, Moses and Norman probably deserve upgrades what a steal they are.

I don't see the issue for Hayne seeking to maximise his contract value, what the f**k is he supposed to do, take unders for shits and giggles?

I don't have a problem if the club decides he's not worth whatever the f**k he is asking, that is what it is. But his value is what he can get on the market, and if he can get substantially more elsewhere, good luck to him.

As for playing it out over the media, for mine it just shows he wants to get a deal done, whether with us or elsewhere. again I don't have a problem with that, it's leverage in a negotiation, nothing more, nothing less.

Whether you like him or not our cap management needs to come into question, again.
We are a shit club that no-one wants to play for and we don't have Uncle Nick or the Thoroughbreds opening up a mountain of TPAs.

That is always going to be a recipe for poor cap management if you compare us to the better managed clubs.

Who's fault is that @hineyrulz you shit stirrer? Its not a case of coach v players as you keep perpetuating. Club management, the coach and the players are all to blame.

Everyone has contributed to the shit sandwich. Club management bought the bread. The players served up the shit and BA being the useless gibbon he is just willingly smeared it on the bread thinking it was nutella.

My mail is we offered him the same aa this year and he wants about 50% more. Also some disagreement on the length of contract.

Heard we may even put a deadline on signing it to him.

Merkins here are in denial and make shit up ad nauseam so they can ignore the facts. As you say, nearly all the squad were locked in until end 2019 on the back of a strong 2017. Not one person was critical then but now BA is an idiot and we are a rabble. Geniuses.

Coming last means your roster performed the worst out of all others. It doesn't make it the worst roster. If our roster was really shit then most people would have predicted us to perform poorly.

The 2018 season prediction thread is proof that no-one on here thought we had the worst roster. Your above statement is revisionist history at its finest.

His form was great when got on the field at the end of the season. No-one is going to question that.

However, you can't just not pay 8-10 players in your squad. If you get rid of 8-10 blokes you need to find another 8-10 that you pay. With those obligations in mind, we should be sensible and measured in our negotiations with Jarryd. If that means saying no to a figure that is significantly higher than his market value then so be it.
